I love the LNAH which is the infamous semi pro league in Quebec. Kind of hard to follow in Los Angeles as most of their websites are in french which I understand very little of. The league used to be crazy in the late 90's/early 00's as there would be literally 5-10 fights a game but now there is a bit more skill to balance out the rough stuff.

Not really. Two guys pushed each other around the ice once. I wouldn't call it a fight.NeverSurrender wrote:bane, any fights?

So I've been told. The guy sitting behind us said its not anything like it was in the 70's when "you went to see a fight and a hockey game broke out", but Im sure its entertaining. It wasnt nearly as chippy as I expected it to be. I didnt see much checking either. It was really fast though. The building was pretty much empty. They play in the same building as the Rockets, which probably holds 20k, and it was maybe 25% of that, but it was a good time. My kid got on the big screen, so he's hooked. We'll definitely go again.NeverSurrender wrote:Wait until you see one. Makes it even betterbane wrote:Not really. Two guys pushed each other around the ice once. LNAH is not a semi pro league. Semi pro players pay to play, minor pros get paid.

Went to the Chicago Wolves game on Saturday. It was ok! They had so much pyro at the beginning some of the ice melted

Pensacola Ice Flyers and Huntsville Havoc recreated Slap Shot for the fans tonight. Best game I've seen in a while.

I love the Chicago Wolves! When I lived in Chicago we had season tickets - do they still play Kick Start My Heart for their intro? We use to sit 3 rows off the glass by the penalty boxes. One year for Valentine's Day my husband had them send the mascot Skates to my work - I got a picture with Skates, a signed autograph picture of my fav player, roses, a hockey jersey, and a wolves garbage can! It was one of the best Valentine's Days!

We have road tripped to Ft Myers to see the Everbades (ECHL) a few times. We have not had a chance to check out the Orlando Solar Bears yet - that will probably be our next road trip. When we first moved to Jacksonville we had an SPHL team - the Barracudas - enjoyed that for one season when we first moved to town, but then the team folded. Unfortunatey, Jacksonville is not a hockey town and SMG Management jacked them around with the stadium. I miss having a local minor league hockey team.

My local junior team is rated #1 in Canada.
The Blainville-Boisbriand Armada (just north of Montreal) are 11-1-1 to start the season, despite a number of returning veterans having graduated to the NHL, AHL, or life after hockey.

I've learned more about the Canadian minor league system since I made this thread. I knew about the teams over the years, just never how the CHL was separated.

The echl and chl may merge, and some Western teams may become AHL teams.
