While keeping an eye on NHL Network all day, tweeters were joking about Rob Flick being the biggest name floated around all day. Just realized the Bruins traded for him. So much for the top 4 defenseman thay really needed.

So, The Flyers trade Bobrovsky to Columbus, who breaks out, and then trade for his backup, Steve Mason. Pretty much sums up Philly's luck with goalies. The ghost of Pelle Lindbergh looms large to this day.
Yep.
Keith Yandle (D-Phnx) for Couturier would have been a deal I would have LOVED to have seen happen though.

The Capitals have officially announced the long-awaited trade, acquiring winger Martin Erat and minor-league center Michael Latta from the Nashville Predators for forward prospect Filip Forsberg, the 11th overall pick in the 2012 NHL Draft.

Unless Forsberg is terminally ill, that's a RIDICULOUS trade for Washington. Forsberg should have gone top 5, but so many teams had needs at D, that he slipped.
Habs losing Plekanec tonight could be huge. Guy plays major minutes, PP, PK, key faceoffs. Eller was -4 replacing him.
Flyers wanted it and needed it tonight more than Habs. No excuse for getting outshot 26-6 over last two periods, and blowing a lead (and point) with 5 minutes to play.

I'm still shocked.

The Southeast division is so bad it's not funny. Absolutely HATE the rule making the division winners the 1-2-3 seeds! At least Washington has gotten hot and will be a worthy opponent for the 6 seed.
Trying to figure out if I want my Habs to slip to 4 and play Toronto, which would be EPIC up here in Canada, or hold onto the 2 spot and play the Rangers or young/hungry Isles.
Really happy to see Montreal, Boston, Toronto, NY Rangers, Detroit, Chicago in the playoffs, as well as several "next wave of expansion squads" and another Canadian team in the Senators.
Playoffs should be great this year, with only 48 games under everyone's belt, vs 82.

Yeah the Southeast has been woeful this season. Even though my beloved Panthers won't make it, it is shaping up to be a solid playoffs.
edit. I hope the Rags don't make it.

Sounds good to me! Hope the Devils make it though I don't have high hopes for this year even if they do. However, I didn't last year either.

Tune back tomorrow, as they are likely to be completely different!
I do think those will be the 16 playoff teams though.
I concur. The only team in the west I really think is catchable is Detroit and i don't see them messing it up.
In the East, maybe Winnipeg but Washington and Ovi are so hot right now. And the Devils just can't buy a goal atm, but if they find there scoring touch i would put them as a maybe. Those would be the two teams who could get in imo.
