Some things never change with this guy. He's walked about
13 times this season.

That's why I'm hoping the Cubs can dump him, even if it means eating a good chunk of his salary. If they can move him, then hopefully they can bring up Baez sooner...Machado wrote:Just read his OBP is only .286wickedsensation wrote:Yankees close to acquiring Soriano from the Cubs?

Yeah, but his reputation is ruined forever.....that's the true punishment.Braun is getting off so easy.
He will only lose 3% of his upcoming salary. Big deal. What is 3% and
65 games going to do? NOTHING.
Fuck that. Who cares about his rep. What might deter these playersLeppardmania wrote:Yeah, but his reputation is ruined forever.....that's the true punishment.Braun is getting off so easy.

You're right, on June 21 they were 12 games under 500. That's even more impressive.Facedown wrote:O.K., I know it's nitpicking but you can't be a half a game under .500.
I hear what you're saying, and I agree that these guys' bank accounts need to take huge hits.Machado wrote:Fuck that. Who cares about his rep. What might deter these playersLeppardmania wrote:Yeah, but his reputation is ruined forever.....that's the true punishment.Braun is getting off so easy.

from "cheating" is hitting them in the bank account significantly.
LOL.....yeah they do. But the future looks bright, my friend. From the sounds of it, Theo truly is putting the pieces in place in the farm system...Baez, Soler, these kids from the Garza trade.....and how about this Junior Lake kid? Where did he come from? Geez, this kid is tearing it up. Obviously he's gonna come back down to earth at some point. But when he does, I hope the Cubs have themselves a solid .300 hitter for years to come.johnk5150 wrote:The Cubs SUCK.
They can't send Lake back down when DeJesus comes back. Move Soriano and keep the kid.Leppardmania wrote:LOL.....yeah they do. But the future looks bright, my friend. Sounds like the Cubs and Yankees will split the $25 million left on his terrible deal. Still not good. He's got some pop left and they are desperate for that but I can't get excited about yet another aging player that is pretty close to done.wickedsensation wrote:Theo told Sveum to scratch Soriano from tonight's starting line-up because the trade with the Yankees is close.
No word yet on who they'll get back, but likely a low-level pitching prospect...
Agreed, especially since he's more of a second half player.killeverything wrote:Remember Soriano when he was with the MFY originally? I think the East is Boston's, maybe Tampa's. Still Soriano's contribution could be huge.
*edit* Sorry guys, posting from my phone.

I have to admit he played better for the Cubs longer into that contract than I thought he would. They don't make the playoffs in 07/08 without his bat .Sheep_Mafia wrote:Sounds like the Cubs and Yankees will split the $25 million left on his terrible deal. Still not good.
