For the highest payroll baseball history they better be. I still think they don't make it past the NLCS. Mannywood pt. II.

They're shutting him down early, a la Strasburg, around 170 innings. Bummed. He's SO fun to watch. Understandable though.

What do all have in common except maybe one player?

The series I'm most looking forward to starts tonight when the West Coast Yankees head into Busch Stadium. LA has won like 14 straight on the road and now have to play the Cardinals. Should be epic.

Can't compare Dodgers with the Yankees because the Yankees never ever had a pitching staff. The Dodgers have a solid staff.
Nice try though.

Went right over your head huh?

The Yankees consistently have the highest payroll in baseball in an effort to purchase a championship. The Dodgers now have the highest payroll in baseball history. That's why they've been refered to as the "Yankees Of The West Coast."

This really shouldn't be that difficult.

Didn't go over anybody's head. I knew exactly what you were talking about.
I am a Dodger fan so I do know & follow their payroll.
So, me making a comment standing up for the Dodgers must have gone over your head. Use some common sense, Mr dummy!
Why would I stick up for the Dodgers if I did not understand your not so original comment?
Being in Los Angeles, the Dodgers should be the Yankees of the west coast. The years of management pinching pennies should have never been & I am glad those days are over.
Next time you make a comment try to be a little bit more original.
You know how many websites I have read the Dodgers are the "Yankees of the west coast"? Too many to count dipshit.

The Dodgers have been referred to as the Yankees of the WC before this season. That's what happens when you have such awesome tradition.

My bad. You obviously bleed Dodger-blue. You didn't just show up nutting all over the place when they started winning. In fact your loyalty is so apparent we have a long history of you in here talking about the Dodgers.

Oh wait no we don't.

Why did the Rangers not trade for a bat knowing this would happen to Cruz?

I'm thinking it's because they will have him back in time for the playoffs, so they probably don't want to give up any prospets.

I couldn't believe the Cubs lack of talent. It was like like watching an Islanders game 5 years ago.

I don't follow the Tigers, but I heard that Leyland threw the media out of his office as soon as 1 reporter asked a question about Johnny Peralta’s 50 game suspension.
Chicken-Shit move by Leyland.

He gets paid to answer questions from reporters before and/or after each
and every baseball game.

GM Dave Dombrowski had already said he would be the point man for any questions about Peralta and not to talk to Leyland about it. I was hoping for a little more color to that story, a la Hal MacRae throwing a phone or something.

It's pretty bad but they ( along with Houston ) will be fun to watch the rebuilding process. Both are horrible and going about forming a competitive system in a different way.

Houston's using minor league style pitcher stacking to acclimate their starters to MLB roles. Kind of the opposite to Nolan Ryan's SPs go deep into games. Epstein will finally prove if he is or isn't the "boy genius." Did he benefit from Duquette's drafting, core and JWH's pocket book? Or was he the Yankees-lite ( credit: Yonkel ) version of Billy Beane/Andrew Friedman?

See even bad teams have a story. Except the Twins....fuck the Twins ownership.
