For his teammates to take away his captain status speaks alot about what kind of character he is, instead of fighting to earn back their respect it sounds like he's got a lil bit of crybaby in him.NeverSurrender wrote:Jason La Confora reporting that Josh Freeman will request a trade before the October deadline.

Fox actually took the Packers beating of the hapless Redskins off the air in favor of Cowboys/Chiefs.

Marc Trestman is a better man than he is a football coach, and I think he's a damn good coach. Happy for his, and the Bears', success thus far.
Re: The NFL Thread
Someone explain to me what Chip Kelly was thinking at the end of that game?
I'm almost ready to root for the Redskins next weekend. There is no excuse for the Lions to have lost. There needs to be major changes on their coaching staff, that only happen when teams lose enough to fire their coaches.

I concur. I saw the end of the Vikings game and thought, "What a shitty way to lose a game." And then the Panthers gave up a TD with 2 seconds left.NeverSurrender wrote:Fuck football.

Kelly should have worked the clock better toward the end, Eagles played great they should have won.

Loved watching both the Vikings and Cowgirls lose today....Then for Seattle to beat the Niners. Pretty good day for the teams I hate except the Bears and Donkey's.
Actually I kind of like the Vikings but their fans haven't shut up since Peterson arrived. Like the second coming of Christ.

Nobody was more surprised than me!UtahRatt wrote:Philip Rivers BROUGHT HIS TEAM BACK IN THE 4TH!

When Rivers was at his best, I thought he was underrated, and when he was awful the last two years, I couldn't quite work out why he had become so bad (although bad protection was obviously part of it), so it's nice to see the offence clicking - those fumbles notwithstanding, it was a solid, no frills passing game.

What the hell is with the Titan's? They beat Pittsburgh last week and this week they damn near beat Houston. I kinda figured KC would take a big step forward this year but not the Titans.
And is it just me? I still have a hard time getting used to hearing Andy Reid and Alex Smith with the Chiefs in game reviews etc...

Re: The NFL Thread
Their offense is still no great shakes but that defense is for real. Houston shot itself in the foot with 3 missed field goals and a pick 6, otherwise the game isn't as close, but Tennesee is going to be a tough game for everybody they play this year.sin wrote:What the hell is with the Titan's? It is pretty unfathomable to me that some of the defensive pass interference calls get made (there were several from a jersey barely being grabbed) but a guy like Ian Williams of the 49ers can legally get blocked in the side of his knee and suffer a broken ankle. Fucking crazy.

Re: The NFL Thread
Don't really know what to say about the Skins but I'll parse it in terms we can all understand: Apparently, they suck. They cannot do anything right - this reminds me of the team as it was during their October and early November last season. Except now, the offense is just as bad as the defense.
It's starting to look like RG3 shouldn't be playing at all. He resembles the RG3 of the last few games last season - far less mobile and saddled with a bulky knee brace. At some point you'd have to think about shutting him down and letting him actually heal up - Cousins might be a better option.
The good news for Skins fans? The NFC East might be the worst division right now in football. Nobody has a defense, and all have some issues on offense.
9-7 probably takes this division - they've all got brutal schedules.
