Too many people putting The Shield on top of the Faction chart. No way is Hunter 'selfmark' Helmsley going to let anyone threaten his DX legacy. Damn shame too. Given a proper run, Shield could have been a faction on line with the greats like the Freebirds,. The Four Horsemen, the Von Erics and so on.
I don't think it could have messed with the E's plans for Reigns' solo career either. How many years did Flair pull double duty as a Horseman and heavyweight champ?
Ah well. Probably wouldn't have sold anyway. Everything in the E now is short term. Although I did read a Steve Austin interview where he hinted that the Rollins turn may be a doublecross that plays out by Summer Slam.

I've seen that rumored elsewhere as well. Since the "Daniel Bryan destroying the Wyatts from within" thing got derailed early, they may be running that angle with Rollins. On the other hand, there are no more 3-man factions for the Shield to feud with anyway, so Vince and HHH may just have figured the time is right for the split. Rollins has developed his character, Reigns seems to have found his promo style (I'm not crazy about his promos, but it fits his "strong, silent type" character), and Ambrose has always been ready for a singles run.

Vince seems to give all a major push, then if he doesnt see a huge future in them, they are gone. Brotus,Drew had a chance most would never get. The others not a big deal.
