I Spent $40 On Three Value Meals At McDonald's Yesterday

Post by Engine13 »

First, I know it's 2024, shit's high and people are nuts.
That said....
After running some errands, I figured I'd pick up some Mickey D's since our son was home from college and I didn't wanna cook. Hadn't had it in a long time....eh, why not.
Ordered (three value meals) A quarter pounder, 2 big macs, all medium size. 2 with shakes, 1 with a coke.
"That'll be $38.86, please pull around".....Huh?
Christ on a pogo stick. I hadn't been to mcd's in a while, but wtf? I'm not in LA, Hawaii, or Alaska....again, wtf?

Paid up, ate the bland food, and shit it out an hour later.
Lesson learned. I just got butt fucked by Ronald McDonald.
I'm out 40 bucks and my asshole feels gross.

Food products are still crazy. $9 for a 12-pack of Diet Coke (used to be $3.99).

I drove through Taco Bell last week (yeah, so what!!!). Light lunch for 2, $20. TB used to be the place where you could buy 50 items for $10, it seemed.

Yet, other industries have stayed pretty even for years. Gas is always up and down.

I don't spend much time on the "why," so I'm not sure.

TB is still the best bang for your buck.

I love real Mexican food, and I realize TB is not that. Honestly, I don't know what it is, and it is sort of gross. But it hits the spot.

They use too much "powdered simulated food substance" instead of meat.
I prefer Sonic. Last week I got two double quarter lb cheeseburgers for five bucks.

Sonic is good. Our local one has the most fucked up drive-thru set up ever. You can get trapped in the lot with other cars and not be able to get out. That often dissuades me from that 3-minute drive.

I like Sonic, but the wait time is insane. I always order on the app ahead of time. I get there, and check-in and wait. Eventually I get the "So and so is on their way with your order", but it's bullshit, as I'm left waiting another 10 minutes.
