I'd imagine it's good for a musician starting out to have on the resume to get a better gig in the future. They can say they played with former Platinum selling artist blah blah.

Varies widely.....

Assuming you mean "non-key" ie, "hired gun"

Some guys on large tours are barely paid and took the gig for exposure/etc.

Some club bands pay well if they want to keep the lineup tight.

$300-750 on clubs/theatre - again Wide variation

Heard a rumor about a singer who was paying the guitarist $35k+ / nite

So depends on tour/player/etc.....
