Slave To The Grind is the only one of these that I’ve heard but I know it wins anyway.
The other correct answer not listed is Cowboys From Hell.

Black Sabbath got heavy again with Heaven and Hell... it's heavy as fuck compared to the lighter Never Say Die/Technical Ecstasy fare...

I think PainKiller might have given Slave a run for it's money.

A lot of other good choices here, but this one wins by far.GreatWhiteSnake wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 3:54 pm Rocks...Well actually it was an album before it was a CD but you know...

Slave is good. Painkiller is almost 100% filler. Trash album.kytepunches wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 3:41 pm I think PainKiller might have given Slave a run for it's money.

Not sure why Tesla, Steelheart, and Trixter are in the poll. I didn't notice anything heavier about those albums - just a continuation of their original style.

Rush, "Counterparts." The band felt the heat from grunge and remembered it had Alex.
Testament, "Low." After the previous shit shows they came back with James Murphy in for Alex and Jon Dette replacing that incompetent drummer.
Overkill, "Ironbound." Wiped the bad taste from "Immortalis" right outta everyone's mouth.

Absolutely.
A completely underrated release. As I tell my friends, "Imagine NIN's Broken, but with much better guitars and less depressing lyrics".

Wolfie is heavier than the last album, so he gets my vote!

I'm not the biggest Warrant fan, but I've always loved Dog Eat Dog. It's still in my regular playlist rotation.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Scorpions "Face the Heat". That's a fantastic album, but unfortunately they decided to go totally soft afterwards with "Pure Instinct" which is a total snoozefest.

No Whitesnake?
Slip Of The Tongue was a ridiculous metal album, especially as a follow up to the powder puff ’87 and the blues rock hay day.

I agree. Although album opener "Wild Child" is really good!
