Yeah, they’re quite good, though definitely more classic rock than hair metal to their sound. First three albums have a ton of solid tunes on them.

Re: Tesla Appreciation Thread ...( the band )
The first record was epic. It was downhill from there. Especially the 5 man acoustic jam.
That being said, they are great live. Especially when they're playing the debut.
From all reports the band are all down to earth guys unlike that damned Scott Ian or Bruce Kulick's wife!! (sorry, i've been Sludging all afternoon... )

Attended back to back shows during their Vegas residency last year, and they were the best live shows I saw during 2023. Musically great, and a vast catalog to draw from. Good people too.

C- Metal Edge band
Never bought cd until 1995 or so
Saw Tesla/Firehouse tour in an arena
Saw class prom queen at the show- she was now drug addict
Seen Tesla few times for something to do or open for band
Saw them most recently at Ventura Fair on a dirt track with farm animal smell
Probably going to San Diego Sunday at casino for free
Worst part of the day- looking forward to all the miserable dads hating life
Probably going be licking pussy at Pacers after
I would never buy Tesla car just because of the name. Should have called car company Poison

Love Mechanical Resonance from front to back.
Great Radio Controversy has some of my favorite songs but isn't as strong as an album.
Psychotic Supper - Liked the single and that's about it.
Stopped listening.
They still win for having one of the worst album titles ever with Bust A Nut.

Debut album is one of the best albums of the genre. The follow up is pretty good as well!

Fan of the band and the man. Fun fact in high school I had a buddy that built a hash smoking contraption which utilized a Tesla coil...

Re: Tesla Appreciation Thread ...( the band )
They were the first band I ever saw, live,
opening for David Lee Roth, and they really brought for an unknown (at the time) opening act.
The first two albums are excellent.
I felt so inundated with the singles from Five Man Acoustical Jam, that I never felt compelled to pick up.
I pretty much stopped listening after that, although I’ve discovered since that Psychotic Supper has its moments.
And there was no goddamn way I was ever gonna buy an album called Bust a Nut, especially at that time.

Ventura vs “San Diego” Tesla
Ventura
Coast view
Beach town
15$
At a fair
animal smell
camel rides
Scumbag Ventura trash people everywhere
Cool sunsets
1$ slice pizza after reduced from 8$
Last night “San Diego”
Not near San Diego
No beach PCH drive
At resort
Free room 19th floor- saw pool
Patio door locked - no jumping off
Pool pass- River lounge floating 3 hours- few hot tubs- island looking
Free ticket- did what I wanted- went 1st row most of night
Set was short casino set just 13..cool
Nice hooker was at elevator door..from Temecula. Tan around 27 nice BIG GUNS..tight dress
Tesla always tries hard just will never be debut Asphalt Ballet great
Pretty cool even C- Metal Edge band can be B+ night(just needs lots of help)

Re: Tesla Appreciation Thread ...( the band )
Loved everything from the debut all the way to "Into the Now." "Bust a Nut" went gold in 1995, they were one of the few bands from the "hairband" era that managed to limp into the early 90s and still get some radio airplay.
Surprised by the lack of love for "Psychotic Supper." "Call It What You Want" "Song and Emotion" and "What You Give" are some of their best stuff.

2nd album and Five Man Acoustical Jam are my favorites. I always appreciated the bands approach and it had definitely aged well.

Re: Tesla Appreciation Thread ...( the band )
Always liked them, seen them a few times. Prefer the second over the debut.
However, back when I had Sirius I swear Hair Nation played "Edison's Medicine" every hour or so. That song is one of the weakest on Psychotic Supper.
