David Bowie has a pretty good 12-13 album run (depending on what you think about Let's Dance)

Not quite. Mirrors and Cultasorus weren't up to their prior standard. Fire was of course great, but in that context it was more of a last gasp.

I like both Let's Dance and the grossly underrated Never Let Me Down, but Tonight is VH3/St Anger level crap so there's that. Otherwise, that's an amazing run indeed. There are a few albums I personally don't like but nothing before Tonight that is universally disliked.

I'll argue with you about Cultosaurus as I have always loved that album, and I think it is highly regarded among BOC fans. Mirrors I have never liked, but whenever I bring that up on Sludge, I get a lot of push back about how great it is.

Regardless, their run from S/T to Spectres was strong, and belongs in this conversation

Billy Joel had a perfect run. Even his worst release, An Innocent Man, was pretty good.

wut

River of Dreams was a one-song record, and it wasnt a partlicularly good one. The Step Brothers bit about his 80s stuff not measuring up to the 80s was pretty spot-on.

No doubt was solid in the 90s

Judas Priest, SWOD to Turbo. 10 years and more albums.
Why are people pretending Turbo is great now? It used to be constantly referred to as a joke.

We aren’t pretending. We like Turbo.
Yep, love Turbo

Alice Cooper had a short run in 3-4 years but they put out some classics

1971 - Love it to Death
1971 - Killer
1972 - School’s Out
1973 - Billion Dollar Babies
1973 - Muscle of Love

Muscle of Love was crap, and School's Out is one classic song surrounded by filler.

Rush - Fly By Night through Moving Pictures. I love everything after MP, but that's largely their golden era.

Ridiculous. They were on the verge of getting dropped after Caress of Steel. From 2112 to MP, yes.

Yeah, they were, but a lot of fans now consider FBN and Caress... as part of that golden era. At least, I do, anyway.

I'd take it 2 albums in the opposite direction.
