Is Metal Sludge like the a desolate desert in the summer?

The one that started it all. Spreading gossip and insults since 1998.

Wow…. That’s a name I haven’t thought about in a long time. My favorite thread of all time was when someone asked if anyone could photoshop Eddie over a cool picture of Seattle’s skyline. The poster was referring to Iron Maiden mascot, Eddie. Well someone photoshopped EVH with full on meth mouth instead. Still never laughed so hard on this site and that’s saying a lot because there were some crude, mean, funny fuckers on this site.
That gets my vote for the BEST moment ever. I know exactly where I was sitting and being asked what was so funny. Wasn't it the first response? The timing was perfect. Sludge brilliance.

I believe it was the first reply. Yeah I remember I was in my old condo, checking in on sludge using my old laptop. Lol. I remember checking in on Sludge all day at work then I had an hour commute home before I could check in again and in that time there would be tons of unread new posts. Really was the peak of Sludge.

But since it was brought up, Alive 1 is the best Kiss album and The Killer Dwarfs should have been bigger. 8)
Then they wouldn't be dwarfs.

This place has been dying since 98. 20 "regulars"...? i would say the number is less than that. On the plus side. Most would have not heard of The Wildboyz, Swingin' Thing or Tuff had it not been for this message board. Brace yourselves. The end of this board is coming sooner than later. Image

Been around a long time. Have Sludge tees too! I think think last time I posted here was in like 2016 til I started checking it out again the past couple years!

Literate Metal Heads…. We’re a dying breed.

This site and this message board is not like social media. It’s not just emojis and comments. We have actual discussions and arguments. There aren’t that many other places where we can talk about Bang Tango, WWF wrestling, frozen pizza and our aging ailments all within a few minutes.

Yep. Every year it is slightly fewer people. People die, move on, family stuff takes over, they finally get a girlfriend, get fed up of having to login frequently etc. And they are not replaced by new people because we are talking about a bygone era with a byegone method.

Who is the youngest poster here? Someone like Mojo who is in his 30s. And even he posts less frequently since he started working in a prison.
That’s because he’s too busy having sex now.
With his job, that is.

Sludge is a remnant of the beginning of the internet. Message boards, USENET, etc. A time before everything online went to shit. However, it still kind of blows my mind, on my recent trip to Japan, I only took my phone. Gone are the days of lugging a camera, video cam, making sure all bills are paid before you go and leaving contact information with loved ones. Technology can be good. The things tech is used for is a shit show.

Don’t go changing, Sludge.

Jesus Christ the memories are flooding back. Another photoshop I loved was the T.V. Guide when Vince Neil was on Skating With The Stars. While the photoshop of Vince slurring his words was hilarious, the best part was in the lower right hand corner there was a picture of Nikki making a smug face with the caption “And tune in to watch Nikki act like a pussy on the new episode of L.A. Ink”. God I wish I would have thought to somehow save those pictures.

I still don't post much...mostly read and get a chuckle now and again. I have no other social media accounts except YouTube, so this and that are my go-tos with coffee in the morning. There is still some funny shit with the 20-30 regulars.

"roxxxxtar" with 4 Xs (bc 1-3 Xs was taken). In 10 years, I maybe posted no more than I have since re-upping. Search shows about 50 posts so must have rolled off. Was going through a rough thing in life with a bad headspace, got into it with the CEO about something meaningless, and told him to delete my account. I was being a stupid dick. Then, quit for a few years. Briefly tried Spooge, but never much happening there.

I can spice things up by talking about having breakfast lunch & dinner with Steve Vai, Adrian Belew, and Tony Levin almost daily. Nahhhhh. Boring stuff.

Heenan bumped that thread every year! We'd still have it if he hadn't gotten banned.
