Janick Gers offered to step down in 1999

The one that started it all. Spreading gossip and insults since 1998.

Janick Gers offered to step down in 1999

Very informative article about how the reunion transpired.

Apparently Gers offered to step down on multiple occasions when Adrian was called back, but Steve Harris insisted that Gers carry on as it was his lifelong dream to have three guitarists in the band

The guys are up there in age these days.

They have 3 guitarists. I'm surprised that they don't take advantage of that by taking turns getting a breather during the shows.

They could each take a break for 2 or 3 songs during the set, would it really matter? Two guys still up there playing.

That is an interesting article.

For my ears, the band was never the same after Smith left. Harris may be the most prolific tune smith for Maiden, but I think that Adrian is the best one.

It's absolutely idiotic to contend Zep weren't A-listers in the 1970s.

I can appreciate Steve’s loyalty and Bruce is who brought Gers into the band. But Gers wasn’t necessary. He’s not as good as Dave and Adrian but he’s not a bad player. His stage moves are what is painful. I’ll give him an E for effort.
