What LIVE Albums Are Perfection, Start to Finish?

Post by RaceFan3 »

Taking a cue from the other thread which was about studio albums, so let's do the live version.

What live albums are perfect start to finish, no skippable tracks? Official releases only, no bootlegs. I'll start:

Bob Seger - Live Bullet
Bob Seger - Nine Tonight
Lynyrd Skynyrd - One More From the Road
The Outlaws - Bring it Back Alive
Allman Bros - At Fillmore East
Atlanta Rhythm Section - Are You Ready!
Blackfoot - Highway Song Live
Blackberry Smoke - Leave a Scar: Live in NC
Blackberry Smoke - Homecoming: Live in Atlanta
Blackberry Smoke - Stoned (A 'Stones cover EP, but live in studio, recorded in order without breaks in one take)
Saxon - Eagle Has Landed
Iron Maiden - Live After Death
Dokken - Unleashed in the East
Bob Dylan/The Band - Before the Flood
KISS - Alive (fake or not, its a great listen)
Thin Lizzy - Live and Dangerous (see above)
Waylon Jennings - Waylon Live
Johnny Cash - At Folsom Prison
Aerosmith - Live Bootleg
Black Sabbath - Live at Last
Elton John - 17-11-70
*I kinda want a new screenname. Seriously. I barely watch racing anymore. :x

It's absolutely idiotic to contend Zep weren't A-listers in the 1970s.

KISS Alive!
REO Speedwagon You Get What You Play For

I’m an old-school Slayer fan, but Decade of Aggression was not good for me when it came out. The band sounded sloppy as shit. My buddies and I were kinda surprised they released it. I think Lombardo even explained later why he was playing so badly

It's a good album, but those occasional between-song fades ruin it for me.

This.
Also, not mentioned yet:

Priest ... Live!
Accept - Staying a Life
Sabbath - Past Lives

Kiss - Des Moines 1977 Off the Soundboard would wipe the floor with both Alives if the sound and mix was better. Still, raw unapologetic 1977 Kiss is a good listen :)

Somehow completely forgot about UFO - Strangers, U2 - Blood Red Sky and Rush - 'Stage, mentioned above. Those 3 are excellent.

I'll add these too:

Guess Who - Live at the Paramount
Uriah Heep - Live January 1973

Those don't get mentioned much and are both awesome.

Speakof the Devil
Priest....live (minus Parental Guidance and RYAATW, thus ruining the thread point, but the rest is perfection, and I deleted those MP3s from my copy)

Wolfsbane - Massive Noise Injection

Rips from start to finish with gold star frontman banter from Bayley. All of which was neutered when he went to Maiden.

PG is not bad on the live album and even better on Turbo Thirty and some 1986 bootlegs. The studio version is too slow and lacking energy.

RYYATW is beyond redemption though. Trying too hard to be a wild rock and roll tune (or Accept's Burnin':) and the vocal melody and lyrics make me want to punch Halford in the face. The guitar parts are ok i guess.
