David Pakman pointed out how the narrative is always that the conservative family is better... god fearing, two parent (male & female) with conservative values, yet it didn't prevent this kid from killing. He pointed out, as I have been saying, that his experience with guns allowed him to easily pull this crime off.
And then there's that absolute piece of shit Kari Lake who was at the Kirk memorial saying this is "a battle between good and evil." She's not the only one saying this, it's been coming from all over the right. I don't think some of you realize how dangerous this type of rhetoric is. Once you define it in this manner... good vs evil... anything is on the table. If you paint your adversary as the devil, anything is justifiable in the minds of these lunatics. It used to be only people on the extreme fringes spouting this kind of rhetoric but now it's people in and around the White House including the President himself.
Unless there's a real toning down of this stuff.. and judging by the last week there doesn't seem to be any willingness from the Trump Administration to do anything even remotely close to that... we are headed for an absolute calamity in this country.

Still crazy to me that our government and a good part of our culture is perseverating on this one death when time after time we have examples of innocent children being shot up in their schools and they barely shrug. What makes this one life so much more important than all of the others collectively? Like, I get that it's political theater and a pretense for the federal government to go after their political enemies but don't quite know what's going on with everyone else. My podunk town in RI is hosting a candlelight vigil for Kirk this weekend. Never seen this sort of mourning and ceremony extended to others who have died, even public figures.

Simple cult behavior, and as you noted, performative. They don't really care about Chuck. They just want to be recognized for their fealty to the cult.aerozeppelin wrote: ↑Wed Sep 17, 2025 10:50 am Still crazy to me that our government and a good part of our culture is perseverating on this one death when time after time we have examples of innocent children being shot up in their schools and they barely shrug. He was a right-wing party loyalist who was murdered and is being turned into a martyr by the party's propagandists.Hatchets Molly wrote: ↑Wed Sep 17, 2025 11:03 amSimple cult behavior, and as you noted, performative. I'm seeing increasing speculation about the authenticity of those released texts. They do not sound like words of a 22-year-old kid who spends a lot of time online and uses perfect punctuation in a post-shooting series of texts?? It sounds more like Kash "Valhalla" Patel or some other weird-ass person. Not someone who inscribes on a casing, "If you read this, you are gay. LMAO." Kids on Reddit, Discord, and other forums of that type do not write like that. I'm curious if you run that through an AI detector, if it would give a high percentage probability that it is entirely that.
Edit: I did try a couple, and they tipped toward human-written, so I wanted to share that.
Sorry...my wife watches a ton of true crime shows. Eventually, things add up in nearly all the outcomes. The math isn't mathin.

Why does Kilmeade have a job after calling for killing homeless people who refuse assistance? Cancel his ass, or does Rupert want to pay out another $750,000,000?Fat_Elvis wrote: ↑Wed Sep 17, 2025 3:25 pmThis is not good news.Bono Nettencourt wrote: ↑Wed Sep 17, 2025 3:02 pm Well, it's not all bad - Jimmy Kimmel got canceled.

Especially since there were 2 mass shootings at homeless encampments within 12 hours of each other in Minneapolis, yesterday, I think.
I think it's safe to assume that it was a Fox viewer.
