And it's a bright yellow shirt, not a sign. It's really visible during the Edge/Cena match.

I see what you're saying and I agree. However, it is still completely stupid of TNA to start this angle and then book themselves into a corner with it (in 3 weeks no lessSebastianLeeDanzig wrote:And the tag match made perfect sense. And people can bash Vince Russo all they want, but the fact is Jeff Jarrett has the final say over everything that goes on in TNA (unless something has changed that I am not aware of). So while Russo may come up with some of the dumbest shit imaginable in wrestling, Jarrett approves it. So Double J is just as much, if not more responsible than Russo for the current state that TNA is in. You'd think these geniuses would learn considering almost half of the roster were around to watch WCW die.

Something does not smell right with that situation.
As a young kid, I remember being so happy for the guy and then before I could blow my nose, he lost the belt.
April 27, 1981 was the day when Tommy Rich became the third youngest NWA champion in history when he defeated Harley Race for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. While Rich dropped the title back to Race in less than a week, it was a tremendous accomplishment for someone so young. Wrestling historians have long speculated as to why Rich won the title. Rich's title reign was the shortest in NWA history at the time which made his win all the more unusual. At this point in time, the world championship did not change hands without the approval of the NWA's board of directors voting on it and the title was not just handed to anyone. Some have speculated that Race dropped the title due to an accident by the referee which could not be covered up without breaking kayfabe (unlikely since the belt could have gone back to Race on a reversal by a higher official). Another theory has it that Race dropping the title to Rich was some sort of disciplinary action. Still another theory has it that the title was given to Rich as a favor to GCW promoters. The man in charge of "booking" the NWA Title at the time was Jim Barnett, who was a partial owner of Georgia Championship Wrestling. There is some support for this theory as there were three world title switches in Georgia within three months in 1981, an unusual number of title switches in such a short period, and an unusal number for one promotion. Jim Wilson's book Chokehold also alleges that Barnett rewarded Rich with the title as a favor towards Rich. Whatever the reason, Rich became world champion at the age of 24, a remarkable achievement as the NWA belt was not given to just anyone, and apparently Rich was felt to have enough credibility to hold the belt, even if it was for a short period.[/quote]
Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate that.

Thats the first time I've seen the footage,Rich did look surprised. The sound is terrible but did you hear the very short conversation Gordon Solie was having with Jim Crocket about Crocket having to rush back from Japan and the shock of the title change then the "whole thing had been reversed " by the time he got back to the states? Very interesting

Can't believe it has been twenty years since Kerry first came to WWE.
This was so cool at the time cause I was a big fan of his from WCCW.
I know Kerry wasn't considered the best of the Von Erichs but he was my favorite.
Can't wait til they are inducted into the HOF this year.

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
2 weeks worth of SD spoilers below
Taping #1:
HHH def. Kozlov via Pedigree.
MVP def. Shelton Benjamin for the US Championship via playmaker.
Shawn Michaels def. Kane via Sweet Chin Music.
Jeff Hardy def. The Brian Kendrick in a Extreme Rules match via Swanton.
Von Erichs announced for Hall of Fame.
Undertaker def. JBL via Gogoplata.
Vickie announced that the winner of the Triple Threat will be the Champion of her heart. Cena interrupted the segment, and turned Edge/Show against each other, dismantling the 'truce' they had just formed. Edge inadvertedly spear'd Vickie... Show Chokeslammed Edge, and left with Vickie.
Taping #2:
Kane, Finlay, Christian, and Shelton def. Mark Henry, MVP, Kofi and CM Punk via Kane Chokeslam on Punk.
Big Show def. Jesse and Festus via KO Punch.
Rey Mysterio def. Chavo via 619 and splash.
Colons and Brie def. Miz and Morrison and Nikki via Backstabber.
Divas Championship match between Maryse and Michelle ended in DQ when Gail Kim interrupted with a missile dropkick on Michelle. She then attacked Maryse.
Matt Hardy def. R-Truth with a Twist of Fate.
HBK came out dressed in white parodying the Undertaker, saying he represented the light, while Taker represented the shadows. He ranted on about how he will end the streak, and quoted the bible.
Also note, this are what was reported to me, if their not 100% accurate don't shoot, and match schedule could change.
