The Texans are not as good as they thought they were.

And Clowney was injured(again). I read somewhere he has played 1/2 of
the defensive snaps

That one tackle made him a HOF player, right? C'mon, it was a clean/hard hit in college but did that make him a great player before the 1st whistle in the NFL?

They just called back a beautiful 70yd TD on the Beagles because of a weak ass holding call....I didn't know it but on the play the announcers said that the REFS are on a record pace for flags thrown in a year.

It's been clear with all the bitching and what little I've seen but with each game it gets uglier. Not just that they're tossing flags at a record rate but that they're not calling the clear penalties.

I've been saying just let them fucking play but they don't even call a obvious penalties to start with. Can't win either way.

Time to hire the NFL officials full time. IMO, if the officiating is going to improve, the NFL has to hire these refs full time.
That will only allow them to get better at the job. MLB Umpires are full time. Why are the NFL officials not the same?

The NFL officials are set up to fail because the NFL and the owners are cheap and refuse to give them full time employment status.

They need more pressure.

Hiring them full time just isn't going to fix the problem. Baseball UMP's sucked ass this year, work by seniority, union protected and not held responsible.

They need to be held accountable even with cheesy close calls, put on a scale and take more responsibility for fucking up and it starts at the top. They can't even be truly scrutinized by teams, players, announcers....I'd love to watch a game where the announcers openly blasted Ref's, toss their names out there and put the crew in a room to review all their fuck ups each game. That would add pressure to those lame callers.
I've love to see a "Worst calls of the week" segment on ESPN or whatever network just so they'd not skate through games.

They average $173,000 a year, it's a joke that they don't work all year, they should be forced to put in a lot of games in the lower levels to help not only the football leagues but it keeps them working and gives back to football.
The lower leagues have been relying on mostly retired and working college ref's as a hobby or part time job and they do a better job then I've seen in the pro's this year.

Reff's don't work hard enough for the amount they make and what little they do in the off season is....Well it's a joke they don't do more.

It would also help if the NFL rule book didn't change every year and is starting to become the size of a phone book. Not to mention they make it stupidly complicated...."if a player makes a football move" type shit...Rules that can be interpreted different ways.

They've been so hyped up with this injury shit protecting their money they've been calling everything. Just let them play.

Honestly I think it all begins in the head office of the NFL and NFL Referees Association. Their off season sounds like it's up to their own if they want to put in the work they're suppose too....Wow they get tested once a month in the off season. Enforce regular meetings and reviews of the entire season along with the new rules.

Utah
If you want to enforce regular meetings during the offseason and training during the offseason, well those ref's have to be hired full time.
The changes would start with that achievement. That would allow the ref's to eat, sleep and breathe officiating at the NFL level.

I agree that the ref's should be held accountable and evaluated much more, but unless they are employed full time, there is only so much evaluating that can be done.

IMO, Goodell and the owners who tell Goodell what to do, they actually do not mind the controversy that comes from an NFL official missing a call at a crucial time in the game. That keeps the NFL in the spotlight, has fans talking about the game even more, etc.

Dead nuts.
Been thinking for years take some load off of Charles especially when Davis is not only more then capable they'd make a great change of pace. Why did they draft Knile, to sit on the bench? Davis has skills that's been wasting away while destroying Charles. I don't know what their problem is but the Chiefs are a better team then what they've shown. I was hoping this was the year they'd win the division because I'm tired of the Broncos, their over due for a rebuilding faze.

I don't know if I feel bad the shitty Skins didn't win it or just happy Atlanta is squeaking out these games vs shit teams. I have a team photo from like 79 or 80 with Steve Bartkowski & William Andrews autograph, I hope it's in a box somewhere I haven't seen it in a long time.
Not sure if you remember that duo, I've always rooted for the Birds but they have to play better if they expect reach the next level.

Join the AFC WEST sucks club. Fat boy Janikowski missed 2FG's then 2 TE's watch a pass fly by so a CB can intercept it and run it back for a PICK 6 with a 1:50 left! Fucking Broncos.
Another shit game slipped out of their hands full of bad calls, bad plays and replays.

And it's not like the ref's didn't try to help the Raiders, they're driving for the go ahead score "again" with three minutes left.
Raiders WR Walford catches a pass and makes a "Football MOVE" then has it CLEARLY stripped on the tackle....Denver ball!...Wait, we have to REPLAY......Upon further review....It's ruled an incomplete pass! Play over turned! Denver loses a TO

Walford even got up shaking his head knowing he fumbled the ball but somehow everyone on the planet including the WR and the REF's knew it was a fumble except the REPLAY BOOTH.

If the Ref's don't make a bad call, the Replay will...

The Ref's are so bad this year, on a record pace, I bet $50 one of them will need Tommy John Surgery.

The Raiders are so damn close to being good. This is the closest they've been in a decade. Not giving up an offensive touchdown was impressive. I know this sounds insane but I wouldn't write them off in the division yet. Denver is smoke and mirrors and their defense won't win every game for them.

for one half Dallas was in the game. Hardy was beating the Pats OL over and over again. if Hardy can continue to play at a high level, the signing is a positive.

i hope the Weeden era is over. with the bye week coming up, Cassell has about 2 weeks to prepare for the next game and give the team a much better chance to win.

how many pick plays does NE run per game? i know they were penalized a few times for that play, but that did not stop them from running the play long after they were flagged.

So much for that "If he can win 1 and half games " shit, huh? I watched this fool long enough. Weeden needs to be gone. So many throws left on the field. Defense, which is fully suspect even with Hardy and McClain, can't hold up that long. I don't see Cassell faring much better. I am hoping Romo gets back soon.. Only shot the Cowboys have is if he is in the lineup.

Course, once again. HOPEFULLY Dallas will start looking for Romo's replacement in next years draft.

With the bye week coming this week, Cassell will get all the necessary snaps to take over as QB1. There is no decision to be made. Weeden has played decent and his numbers are ok, but 3 L's is the only stat that matters.

Word on the street is Dez might return after the bye week. Unsure if that is possible but that would be a spark the O definitely needs.

Tomlin showed a lot of balls calling a run play out of the wildcat with only
5 seconds to go in the game. How many NFL coaches would have done the same? Most of them would have told the O.C. to call a fade pass to the corner or kick the tying field goal.
I could care less about the Steelers, but that was a great call for the W.

Kick the field goal.

Here is where you are truly showing your front runner ways. You're loving the call because they made it. If they would have failed you would be in here beating your chest talking about Tomlin is an idiot and everybody knows you should take the points and play for overtime. I don't care that they got in. It was not a smart play. Fuckwads like you who can't see it, that's fine. I just know that with 100% certainty that you would have been the first person I here calling for his job if they didn't make it.

So fuck you, Matardo.
