I predict that at least a few times in the fight Diaz will taunt Henderson.

Gustaffson is in over his head vs Shogun. I will be surprised if he wins.
And I agree that Diaz is going to win.
Henderson has never been hit in bunches the way Diaz is going to hit him.
Diaz needs to stay away or check Henderson's kicks. The dude has some thick thighs.

Big shogun fan as well, but my grandpas knees are healthier than his. Have you guys seen him move the last fights? Only thing he has left these days is maybe his chin. He'll be jabbed for 3 rounds.
Diaz needs to sub bendo, or else I have a feeling he'll lose a decision.

155 is cursed.
Forrest out of 155. What is he the third or fourth fighter to
withdraw because of injuries.
Let's keep our fingers & toes & nuts crossed that nothing
happens to the main event.

Anybody watching pacman vs marquez tomorrow after ufc on fox? Might catch it if im still awake, but not real interested in it. Watching the boxings weigh ins is freaking tedious...they really need to see how ufc does it. UFC does a much better job of getting you psyched up for the fights.

Growing up I was a big boxing fan. One time I was in Hollywood driving past Roscoes Waffles & Chicken restaurant & I see Mike Tyson outside. I pull over to say hello to him. Get out of car, walk towards him on sidewalk, & say "hey Mike" & his posse comes at me like I was going to shoot him or something. I said "just wanted to say hello" & he says "hey man" in his Mike Tyson voice & I went back to my car & drove off.EddieVanHeineken wrote:Anybody watching pacman vs marquez tomorrow after ufc on fox? Anways, to make a long story short, ever since I got into mma & ufc, I could care less about boxing.
Tomorrow's fights are going to be good. Did you see all the love BJ Penn got at today's weigh in? Unfortunately I think he is going to get his clock cleaned. And I do think Nate is going to win. Henderson has never been hit with a barrage of punches that Diaz is going to throw. I watched the Jim Miller fight again today, and at one point you could see Nate take over & Miller had no answers & couldnt keep up. It will be interesting to see if Henderson tries to trade with Nate.

What kind of excuse are the Diaz brothers going to have if Nate loses? Benson is taking it to him...

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
As I thought, all the fighters I wanted to win got dominated. Nature taking it's course I guess.
They should make an over the hill division for all the titos, liddells, shoguns and wanderleis, people still love them, let them fight it out between them.
Shit, the Diaz brothers are usually weaker and slower than their opponents, yet somehow prevail, too bad it didn't happen this time.
Despite the win though, the sweede ain't ready for Jones. Pre surgery Shogun would have knocked him out. McDonald's a different story though. He just keeps on getting better.

Henderson was a beast. The only round that was in the least bit competitive was the third when the submission attempts were goin on. Other than that, it was a mauling. Nate couldn't get off whatsoever.mullet_head wrote:As I thought, all the fighters I wanted to win got dominated. Nature taking it's course I guess.

Did you guys think it was a great night of fights?
I didn't. Each fight was one sided big time.
I felt sorry for BJ. He came out with a fire, but after a couple of times of being hit he had the "just trying to survive" look in the eyes.
Nam Pham was a human punching bag. Damn Siver mauled him.
The problem I have with the Fox broadcasts are the commercials inbetween rounds. I understand a boatload in between fights, but how can you get into the fights with no coverage on game plans & what the corner men say to their fighters.
One of the main reasons I got into mma & ufc specifically was the excitement of when the fighters walked into the cage & all the stuff that happens before. And the talk that happens with the fighters and their corner men. Both did not exist during last night's broadcast.
I wanted Diaz to win, but Henderson was incredible.
And yes, the Gustaffason (spelling) is in no way ready for Jon Jones.
Dana White said Dan Henderson is still having problems with his knee. If it persists, Henderson will get pulled & Gustaffason will be plugged in to fight Machida. That's a good call.

I thought the event was alright, but like I said those I wanted to win all lost, so there's that, but I still enjoyed watching Siver, McDonald, Henderson...they were impressive, really.yeahbuddy wrote: Henderson was a beast. There's really no one right now I want to see face Jones, what's the point, so fights like Machida vs Gustafsson, Machida vs Hendo, Shogun Vs Thiago Silva etc all seem good to me.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
I feel the same way. I have no interest in seeing anybody fight Jon Jones. The guy is so above & beyond everybody else in that division he has to move up to heavyweight or something. I think because of his age eventually that's what he is going to do.
The only thing that Gustaffson brings to the table is his height and reach are similiar to Jones. If he thinks he has a shot to beat Jones, he is smokin' something.

With his chin, Shogun will trade wins and losses with top 15 fighters for the rest of his career. Will never win big again though.yeahbuddy wrote:

BJ is far too small for welterweight. Just doesn't have the work ethic to boil down to lightweight.
Dennis Siver is really under the radar for a guy with a 10-5 record in the UFC. Sadly he's high risk/low reward for other fighters.

Diaz needs to stay away or check Henderson's kicks. The dude has some thick thighs.

Gustaffson won, but wasnt that impressive. The guy has no shot against Jones. So, it doesn't really matter if he won or not.
If you read what I wrote, I wrote that Diaz needs to stay away or check Henderon's kicks. He didnt. I also gave major props to Henderson after the fight. It also turns out that Diaz got his eye injured early in the fight, and was seeing nothing but a blur the entire fight. He said he was waiting for it to get back to normal vision, but never did. A loss is a loss is a loss.
Weren't you the dim witted dumb fuck that said the GSP fight was fixed, and he never got kicked in the head? Wasn't that you?
Fuck off & go back to watching wrestling or whatever retarded sports you follow.

Good night of fights again tonight, UFC is on a roll. Shame the main event didn't go longer, I like both of those guys. Love that even after the KO Mitrione is all smiles.
Bummed that Hendricks isn't getting the shot as GSP. Not just that, but Dana is rubbing it in by making him an undercard on the fight that he isn't getting.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
So cain just beat JDS from pillar to post. Pissed that my TV went out for a minute during the first round and missed Cain catching and dropping Junior. Junior did not look the same tonight...not sure if the fame went to his head or he was hurt, but he looked out of sorts from what we've seen from him before. Or it could just be that Cain not being hurt and being able to implement his game plan unlike the first fight made a huge difference. Also, all the talk about Cain's cardio needs to be put to rest. He looked spent by the third round. There were a few times it looked like he could put Junior away but he didn't have the strength to do so.
So it looks like Cormier will have to drop to Light Heavy and hopefully challenge bones next summer.
The Miller/Lauzon fight was entertaining, probably fight of the night. All the other fights pretty much sucked. The Varner/Gillard fight was okay though...

I think JDS thought he was going to be able to knock him out without much effort. But Cain was relentless with his take down attempts. Most fighters would've given up & made it a boxing match, but not Cain.EddieVanHeineken wrote:So cain just beat JDS from pillar to post. Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
Cain did what he did against Lesnar & Silva. Hurt them & then mauled them into defeat. Give credit to JDS for hanging in there & trying something/anything. What I appreciated the most was Cain never stopped trying to take him down. He was f'n relentless for 5 rounds. Even when JDS got away & Cain was holding onto a foot, he got right back up & tried again.

The fight I really want to see now is JDS/Overeem as you talk about 2 alpha males going at it. You talk about a fight that at least on paper will have no wrestling/takedowns and just bombs away!!
