I thought Condit looked great last night. I'm definitely a fan.

I work across the street from Banker's Life Fieldhouse and would like to have gone to see the event, but goddamn, tickets are expensive as fuck.

I saved a ton of money and watched from my couch.

How much were tix? I forget what fight it was, but it was at the Staples Center in Los Angeles & I was going to go. Tix weren't that bad, but I decided to pass.
I would rather be in Vegas, and see a fight there.

They varied in price but the best seats were $220. Fuck that. The worst ones (way up in the nosebleed sections) were over $50.

220 is high, but depending on who is fighting might be worth it.
I'm thinking about the year end in Vegas fight. That's going to be a
stacked card.

Happy to see Pettis win. It's good for the UFC because now they have someone they will be able to promote that has more of an interesting personality/story than Henderson and actually finishes people. Pettis is proving to be dangerous all around.

I'm kind of up in the air if the Mir/Barnett fight was called early. I know Dana White was flipping out about it on Twitter. The issue is that Mir went limp for a second when he dropped. IMO, it was the same as when Hendo hit Fedor with the sneaky punch from underneath and he dropped. If there was a possibility that a fighter went unconscious even for a split second, they need to stop it.

Mendes deserves another shot at Aldo. He's wrecked 4 people in a row now. Although Clay wasn't effective in this fight, it was good to see him be a bit more aggressive and less engagement averse.

Missed out on the other fights. Anything good on the undercard?

Ha!
Henderson is a class act, but a fraud of a champion.
With every title defense he has gotten closer to losing.
He barely squeaked out a victory over Melendez.
Those kicks to the body were painful.

Mir more than likely was done, but out of respect for him &
how long he has been fighting, he should have been given
more time.

Remember when Vera was a stud & the future of the ufc?

Overall, an okay night. I am happy Pettis won. The guy is
a stud.
No reason for Henderson to have a rematch because of the
way he got his ass handed to him.
He is the Carlos Condit of the division. Will always be top tier,
but will never be a champ again.

undercard fights? Hmm, not really. Varner almost pulled one out but ran out of time.
Mendes was on an entirely different level than Guida. I agree with you on Guida. These days just a gatekeeper.

I could see paying $220 for a good card, but that was definitely not the case on Wednesday night. I'm looking forward to Sept. 21.

I had a feeling that Henderson would lose as soon as he started looking past Pettis saying he'd pass Anderson Silva's record of title defendes in 2015. Guess not. Mir was done, he may not have been knocked out, but I just don't seem anyway he would have been able to recover given his past history of when he's been in similiar situations. Guida is finished as a contender, same with Vera unless he get some decent matches and wins throw his way, I don't think Vera looked bad, he just didn't have the power to take out Rothwell. Mind guy, seeing the way he kept getting tagged, I don't think he'd have much luck fighting Velasquez or or Dos Santos. The Poirier Koch fight was really good, I think they both came off looking good.

Yeah,
Henderson was stupid to make a comment like that. Especially since he was going to be fighting a fighter that beat him the last time.
When Pettis landed those body kicks you could see it on Henderson's face that those were painful.
I admired how Pettis is so composed. Both Pettis & Henderson are class acts.

That would be from the first Ben Henderson vs Anthony Pettis fight on the very last WEC (they just rematched Saturday, with Pettis winning again with an armbar in the 1st)

That kick wins Pettis the fight.

Watched Henderson/Pettis 2 again today.
The way the fight ended shocked everybody including the announcers. Being there was no visible tap everybody was like "what the ??".

I could see BJ Penn getting back in the mix if he could just get a win, whoever is champ would call him out just for the name value and PPV revenue.

Bader is a f'n tomato can.

After Bones Jones takes care of blondie in a couple of weeks. He should fight Texiera, and once he beats him, should move to heavy weight.
Does anyone think blondie will get out of the 1st rd?

Man these cards in Brazil are full of mismatches, clearly set to make Brazilians look good.

I liked that that Tor guy made it a fight, and I absolutely loved that the Polack newcomer who was brought in to lose against an experienced guy survived a brutal first round only to win by submission in the second.

I can see Jacaré winning the belt, dude keeps getting better and better.

Glover is to slow for Jones, but goddamn how funny was it to see Bader getting the better off the exchanges then get ko out of nowhere.

Glover's a beast, and so is Jacare. Bader came out guns blazing and caught him by surprise, and he still starched him. He has the best chance at Jones, if anyone does.

The big difference is when Jones catches you, your done.
Glover is too slow. His best bet is to throw massive bombs & hope
one lands.
I'm not a Jones fan whatsoever, but the guy is so beyond everybody
else that it's sick.

Watched the ultimate fighter show this afternoon.
Ronda is quite the drama queen isn't she?
That close up b&w confessional camera does neither of those
women any good.
The women that were chosen to fight are much more interesting
than any of the men. There's a number of women that stand out,
but I can't remember one guy. I don't think any of the women
are hot either, just more interesting. Come on, that gawky white
girl that lives in Japan & teaches literature or something. Can't
get much more interesting than that. And there's that bad ass
girl that trains with Tate.
I hope Tate beats Ronda just to bring Rousey back to earth.
But I seriously doubt that.
