Nice reference yes... makes you wonder who in the back is a Iron Maiden Fan..
but for Jericho?

He's become a lax character.
He looks out of shape (flabbing over his tights) and his acting is becoming comical.
ZERO reaction to most of his opponents moves.
He wasn't as bad this week, but last week looked like a practice session or something.

He needs to step it up to be believable as a "force"

For me.. he's become one of those characters that you wonder if he has dirt on McMahon.

Any fans of Elijah Burke in TNA? He has to be one of the best things going now in the company.

Props to TNA for pushing Nigel McGuiness. I know Angle went over on him in their first PPV match but Nigel looks strong and they are giving him a lot of mic time. I kinda figured they would change his name cause they aren't gonna give a guy a monster push (with Angle) and then let him go back to ROH or maybe even WWE ( I bet they realized they missed the boat on Nigel as sites were reporting that WWE wonders how they let him get away after Nigel/Angle 1 on PPV)

TNA Roster (partial) by age:

3-20-59 Sting
7-9-59 Kevin Nash
7-29-62 Scott Steiner
11-11-63 Kip James
9-8-64 Raven
6-7-65 Mick Foley
7-14-67 Jeff Jarrett
12-9-68 Kurt Angle
3-24-71 Daniels
7-14-71 Brother Ray
11-9-71 Dr. Steive
8-1-72 Brother Devon
11-1-72 Doug Williams
2-11-73 Hernandez
3-23-73 Tomko
10-4-73 Abyss
1-28-75 Shark Boy
10-7-75 Rhino
7-16-76 Bobby Lashley
9-10-76 Matt Morgan
3-20-77 Homicide
5-11-77 Robert Roode
6-1-77 James Storm
8-4-77 Suicide
1-23-78 Desmond Wolfe
5-24-78 D'Angelo Dinero
6-2-78 AJ Styles
7-17-78 Kiyoshi
3-17-79 Samoa Joe
12-15-79 Eric Young
5-16-81 Cody Deaner
2-4-82 Chris Sabin
4-26-82 Amazing Red
5-23-83 Alex Shelly
2-30-84 Sheik Abdul Bashir
4-21-85 Jay Lethal
11-4-86 Consequences Creed
11-6-86 Brutus Magnus

29 guys are over 30, while 9 are under 30.

The belief is that Dixie Carter is going to become a television character as the owner on 1/4, when Hogan is presumably debuting. Whether she’ll work with Hulk Hogan or feud with him, and where Mick Foley fits in as executive shareholder, and whether Eric Bischoff becomes a television character will all likely be apparent in a few weeks.

In this month's powerslam, there was a huge article on Shane leaving, with quotes from loads of former writers and employees. Here are some highlights.

Quote:
In the words of one WWE insider who once had daily contacts with the McMahons: "Vince would treat Shane horribly. During agent meetings he would yell at Shane, saying things like "Weren't you paying attention for the last half hour to what I was saying? I mean, Goddamn it, Shane!"

Quote:
According to one former WWE insider: "The most disturbing thing that I was personally asked to do by Stephanie was to spy on Shane and his projects. I couldn't believe she was asking me to do that to her own brother. She literally told me, 'I need you to keep an eye on this project and make sure he doesn't screw it up.'

Quote:

"If Stephanie or Vince went off on a writer or agent, Shane would often step in and take the side of the person who had somehow incurred his dad or sister's wrath. Then Vince's anger would be directed towards Shane, and the writer or agent out of favour would be instantly forgotten. Shane did this on more than one occasion. I don't know if he did this to provoke or rebel against his father or to save the poor writer or agent who was being unprofessionally talked down to. I saw Stephanie smile with glee while her father was berating her brother on many an occasion."

Quote:

"In his own words, Vince says that Linda is a saint for being married to him all these years," claimed one WWE insider who asked to remain anonymous. A former WWE writer, who was often in the presence of Vince and Linda, told me, "The Senate Campaign is talked about as, you know, 'The least he can do' for her sticking around. Everyone knows it is doomed to fail, but that's what Linda wants. She feels entitled to anything (after all she's been through.)"
The absurdity of Linda's campaign has obscured its own claim to relevance: Vince's most loyal ally had has enough and left. Exactly one month later, Shane decided to bail out as well.
"Linda and Shane were the only two McMahon family members who didn't live by working," said one former WWE writer. "They were always themselves: normal people. That's probably why they left."

Quote:

"Shane was always a consummate professional when it came to interpersonal relationships," said one WWE writer. "He would never raise his voice against staff. If someone legitimately made an error, he would tell them they had made an error, but not yell at them.
"Stephanie, on the other hand, yelled at the writers in a way that would cause a normal company's H.R department to call her in and straighten her out. Just ask (writer) Dave Kapoor who was yelled at and threatened with being fired because he smiled during a promo. And she yelled at him in front of not only writers, but production staff and wrestlers."

Quote:

Finally, in early October, Vince and Shane had another arguement. Reports differ on whether this was more heated than previous arguements, or if it was simply the final straw for Shane. Whatever the case, on October 16, the message was posted on WWE.com that he was resigning, effective January 1, 2010.

Quote:

According to one former WWE employee: "Shane knows about the world outside of wrestling and MMA, and much of this can be attributed to his wife, Marissa. She is the only one in that family from outside the wrestling world, and she has brought Shane back into the real world. Shane is normal in a way that none of the McMahons are. He is the only McMahon to have contacts outside of wrestling and D-List Hollywood celebrities and that gives him an edge."

My 1st reaction was... Punk is a multi-time champ and Truth's claim to fame so far in WWE is to have the shit kicked out of him X number of times before even getting into the ring... why does anybody care what he thinks?
.
OK.. let's review here for a sec.

R-Truth got the ever-loving shit kicked out of him by Drew McIntyre 4 (or was it 5) weeks in a row...
R-Truth then moves on to squabble with a belt contender while Mcintyre is given Finlay to wrestle?
Seriously???

The writer's for Smackdown are either on strike, or are trying to kill the show.

R-Truth and Knox..

Sure.. why not...

Their finishing move can be R-Truth doing his pathetic copy of the Scissors kick while Knox bounces off the ropes, trips on his own feet and falls on the opponent for the 3 count.

:?

As for Koffee and Orton...
I'm thinking that everyone with more clout than Kingston refuse to have to deal with Orton's no-move butt.

I just can't understand what you have against Orton! He has been champion however many times... he just goes in and beats people up... ok so he may do it "with a little help from his friends" once in awhile, but non the less he gets it done. To have to take an ass kicking from Koffee is an absolute disgrace. He must have pissed Vince off or something.
you said it... he "goes in and beats up people"... ~YAWN~
His entertainment value is ZERO.. ~YAWN~
HE's BORING!

His skill set of 4 moves should actually disqualify him from participating in actual matches.
Hopefully, Vince is going to let Folger Boy beat him .. and then send him back to Jim Cornet for more training.

After hearing Hogan say he wants to ditch the writers in TNA, it's got me wondering WTF he's actually planning on doing there? I can understand him wanting Bischoff to write, if that's the plan because there WAS a time when he was on fire in the beginning of the NWO days, but I seriously hope Hogan isn't gonna try and run this thing himself. If he does, he might as well kiss 99% of the talent goodbye because I'm sure they don't want to put up with this mess.

If they have an "Escape From New York" match, I'm going to this!

- Pro Wrestling Guerrilla has announced that they will present Kurt Russellmania as a part of the WrestleUnion 4 event on January 30th with Jushin Thunder Liger, Keiji Mutoh and Rob Van Dam. The first match announced for the January 30th show is El Generico vs. Jushin Thunder Liger, in what is being called a "Big Trouble in Little China Singles Match".

- Kurt Russellmania takes place on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the LAX Hilton as a part of Wrestlereunion 4, presented by Highspots. The LAX Hilton is located at 5711 West Century Blvd., Los Angeles , CA , 90045.

- Also announced for the Wrestlereunion 4 weekend are the following matches:
* January 30th ROH Event: Jushin Liger vs. Davey Richards
* January 31st PWG Event: Jushin Liger vs. El Generico

I'm not a TNA fan... but...

Bischoff suxx as a writer.
He's a self-centered egotistical cad who writes 90% of the storylines around himself.

Hogan seems under the impression that "the name" makes "the show".
Not necessarily.

I went to a benefit show at a biker rally a few years back. Sunshine Wrestling Association volunteered to help out by having 3 matches.
Yeah.. when they announced the first participants, no one was real excited.. but after one of the guys jumped out of the ring, pushed one of the biker's in attendance out of his chair and threw it in the ring.. then turned and looked at the biker and ran (being pursued by someone we all knew as a friend and participant in the charity event), everyone got really into it. Those two guys TORE IT UP. Great moves, new moves, crazy shit, funny shit...
The next matched was announced by the winner of the first match as "my boy so n so and the "living piece of garbarge" so n so.. everyone knew who to cheer for. (creating the instant heel in garbage boy)
It rocked.. so much fun.

TNA would be the same way with all new talents.
It would take a couple of matches to sort out the Good, the Bad and the WHO CARES THEY ARE AWESOME...

If Hogan and Bischoff take it over... no new talent will flourish, it will be nothing but Geriatric used-to-bes

Oh yea Sheamus vs. Cena... now that will sell PPV's!!!!!!

Unless they are going to have Orton take him out between now and then.

You know come to think of it, maybe Hogan in charge of things in TNA isn't such a bad idea after all.

Sheamus?... OMFG!!!!!!!
Well, all I can say is Triple H definitely wasn't lying when he said he was a big supporter of the guy.

I can't believe they placed the Cena v Punk match in the extra first hour where a lot of people probably missed it. That was one of the better free TV matches WWE's had in a while.

I like Sheamus, but he hasn't really been built up enough... especially on Raw. It's one thing to lay someone out trying to get a title shot, but it's less effective when they lay out the champ when that shot already fell in their lap. Plus the first match will be a TLC match. A specialty match should be built up after at least one regular match.

"Little People's Court?"

I'm hoping next week will see the return of a lot of the midget wrestlers from the past like Sky Lo Lo, Little Mr. T, The Haiti Kid, Mini- Goldust, and Mini- Vader! I doubt they'll bring back Mini- Mankind, sadly. I'd love to see the Macho Midget but I'm sure Vince has a grudge against him too!

could be like JBL, new guy, wins the belt to build him up

sucks the NWO will beat YTJ and Show, they will beat everyone now on both shows, I guess the tag team belts will be defended at Wrestlemania now first time in what 7 years or so HHH is involved..shock!

Heh...I was gonna say the same thing. Maybe LAG meant "new character" cause he did pretty much win the belt as soon as he debuted his JBL persona. But he was older than Methusaleh when he actually got the strap.

I don't think Sheamus is such an absurd pick. They gotta feed Cena the "big guys" the way they fed folks like Vader to Flair and HBK back in the day. Sheamus probably won't win the belt anytime soon but he'll be elevated just by being in the ring with "The Champ" as a credible contender.

It's funny that he "retired" Jamie Noble, since I first saw him on a dark match for RAW wrestling Noble. Noble was hilarious that night. He steps up to Sheamus, looks him square in the sternum, and says "I can tell you're scared being in the ring with Jamie Noble boy, look at ya, it's done scared the color right out of ya." Noble was squashed of course...

VA's a KISSTARD.. so..

However, I do agree with him on John Morrison.
The Johnny Nitro character was a big FAIL.. they were smart enough to "re-create" him.
Just like a young Flair, Morrison has the entertainment value.
But now they are dropping him to a secondary roll.

WWE/TNA/whatever.. it's action movie meets soap opera.
Characters are the most important part.
The characters must have some redeeming value.
Shamus.. not high in value..
