Oh the Reds have deals alright. I go down for "Teacher Appreciation" games every once in a blue moon. Tickets behind home plate are $21. However, by the time you park, grab a bite to eat and drink, and fill up the gas tank, you are in for far more than $100. Especially if you're talking about a family of four. You can see go the Clippers (who are in the IL playoffs btw) for $5, and usually it's "Dime a Dog" night or "50 cent wing" night. Much more family friendly.
I used to go to a lot of El Paso Diablos and Albuquerque Dukes games when I was kid, and minor league ball is a great time for very little dough.
There aren't any minor league teams anywhere near me now though, unless you count hockey, and I just don't give a fuck about hockey. That said, when it comes to major league sports MLB kicks the shit out of the other two for pricing. Yeah, the owners have a whole lot more time to make their nut, 81 games vs 8 in the NFL, but that's cold comfort when you're looking at 500 bucks to take your family to an NFL game.
I'm down to one NFL game per season, if that. There's just too many better things and more important things to spend money on.

Maybe in Texas, but you couldn't do that at a Reds or Indians game. Of course, even with the Reds getting ready to win the division, that may explain their empty stadium. Meanwhile, the Dayton Dragons, Toledo Mud Hens, Columbus Clippers, and Akron Aeros are always packed to the gills.
They don't have cheap seats at Reds games? We went to Cub Scout Day with my kid's cub scout pack a couple of weeks ago. Face value on the tickets were 10 bucks and they ran a promotion where you got a free hot dog and a coke with your ticket. They were shit seats way up in the upper deck, but my 7 year old still had a blast.

Gotta tell a quick story about the Reds. Being a lifelong Reds fan, a few years ago I wanted to take my son to a game at Riverfront before they tore it down. So we made a long weekend of it.... Kings Island, Newport Aquariam etc....anyway my son who was probably 7 or 8 at the time is deathly allergic to peanuts. Just being around them he can have a reaction, and ingesting them can be fatal. So not having a major league park here I never even thought about the peanuts being EVERYWHERE and the oils being all over the seats. So we get there and sit down and it hits me. Of course I look over at him and his eyes are watering and he's getting hives. We decide immediately that we have to get out of there(my wife decides I'm a moron). So the wife says well I'm gonna see if there is anyway we can get a refund( we had 5 seats down the first base side about 7 or 8 rows up). So she goes and ask the usher who radios an employee in the ticket office who is in the concourse with the first aid people immediately. They give the boy some benydryl and she says they are not only going to refund us but if we'd like to stay they will give us a private suite to watch from. So we agree and had a great tine. Lady kept checking on us all night sending food drinks whatever we wanted and told us anytime we want to come to a game just call her and she'll make sure he has a safe place to watch from.

So after this wonderful experience when I get home I decide to test our local teams. The colts said no problem, when he comes they put us in the press box or wherever to make sure he's safe. (our current seats are in a section that only has 4 rows and we are in the last row so he's fine there). The Indians our local aaa team were reluctant but said they would do there best. The Pacers, even though I had been a season ticket holder for years, told me to leave him at home. I even went as far as to quote the americans with disabilities act and explained what a huge fan he was. They didn't care. They didn't want him in the building. One of many reasons I didn't renew.
