Bane, I'm not Jewish, I'm Catholic. But the point is that, IF you wanted to move back to your "ethnic" homeland, then yeah, you'd have to leave the area.

I know you're not Jewish Lerx. The yarmulke comment was just for effect. As to an "ethnic homeland", I don't have one. Like a lot of Americans, I'm a mutt. The closest thing I have to an ethnic homeland is the area in which I reside, which was kind of my point. I would imagine it's much the same for a lot of Palestinians. I guess it depends on how far back you want to go, but strictly speaking, those people and the Jewish people are originally from the same stock.

I realize that, but the point is that every single one of those Palestinians would be welcome as a law-abiding citizen of Israel - just not as rebels trying to establish an ehtnic homeland state.

The point is that their background is Jordanian and Jordan is nearby. IF they don't want to be Israeli citizens, they have a legitimate option, which is to go to their homeland 100 miles away. It's not like American citizens who'd have to leave the continent to return to the old country.

Hey, there are a shitload of Muslims in Dearborn, Michigan. If they decide to form a Muslim state and secede from the Union, are you game for that? THAT is closer to the analogy you want.

A rather vulgar comparison, but yes, that is exactly what I am saying. Israel is superior to all the other countries in the Middle East. Every single last one of them. Israel is morally, ethically and intellectually superior to every shithole Muslim state. The don't oppress their own (or other) people, they have true (not just on paper) freedom of religion which is enforced unlike in Lebanon, they invent, innovate and they give back to the world. They have democracy, womens rights, gay rights and charities to help the same people trying to blow them up.

They are the west's only true friend in that region. Surrounded by hundreds of millions of skulking, cowardly, culturally retarded enemies who think they will go to heaven to be surrounded by 70 two year old virgins if they wipe Israel of the map, the Jews of Israel still manage to excel and prosper.
