Re: Kiss - You Wanted The Best... Question
Hey Wiseacre, are your remixes all Kiss centric, or do you do other bands? I'm not much of a Kiss fan anymore, but I really enjoy your posts, your passion for what you is obvious.

Meh, those songs all sound better on Alive! though anyhow for the most-part (BD, Firehouse, RARAN, LMG RnR). I included those with the Largo '77 show which is close to the same audio as my A2 remix will be and they all are much better on Alive!. I suppose you could have the way too fast HTH and Nothin' To Lose from Tokyo. With the other "real" missing songs, it would be long enough without that stuff. Tomorow and Tonight is total fakery, but I still love it. My 1977 ears had no problem with it and I still listen to most of the KISS stuff with those ears. it may not be from an actual live recording, but it's still a different version from LG (and without those terrible background vocals).HueyRamone wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2025 7:03 pmIn the interests of realism, could your Alive II include songs from the first 3 albums that they performed at that time, and delete fuckin' Tomorrow and Tonight (I assume that wasn't ever played live)Wiseacre wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2025 6:38 pmThe supposedly did play SW at least once or twice on the early Canadian tour, but no audio exists that I know of, so I won't be doing that one. It has to be at least partially authentic. I don't want to just completely fake it with an album track and crowd noise or whatever.HueyRamone wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2025 6:27 pm
Did they ever play Strange Ways? Love Her All I Can?
Hope they like the Elder thingy. I cant support that tho.![]()
pretty sure they threw Love Her All I Can together quickly by just copying the Wicked Lester version since they needed material for DTK in a hurry. No idea, but I never heard about it being played live.
I already "remixed" most of Alive! when I did the Winterland show since the rhythm guitars, bass and drums were used, with the Winterland vocals and solos. Plus those drums were all edited to match the show, so I just need to use the original drum parts, solos and vocals and most of Alive! is already finished.
The same goes for Alive II, which I did basically the same for my Alright, Largo! '77 show. I'm planning on doing an expanded Alive II as well adding Do You Love Me?, Hooligan, Take Me, Flaming Youth and possibly even Love 'Em and Leave 'Em which they did play at least once. There are no good recording to use, but with the one bootleg live recording and the rehearsal versions as a guide, I may be able to create something that matches how it would have sounded.
If I ever get around to finishing it, I was already working on a "LOST ALIVE III" which was going to include the post A2 stuff using Syndey/Aukland plus Fridays for the Elder stuff. Also, You're All That I Want and a couple totally fake songs like Mr. Blackwell (which incorporates Eric's drum solo and the blood routine to replace God Of Thunder), Escape from the island (which has Paul's "say Rock n Roll" live routine) and even a live "Charisma" using demo and Gene solo tour stuff. Cool stuff.
DTK remix is first though plus ALive! remix since it's the 50th this year. Then I'll probably finish HOUSTON '77 video which is footage combined from both nights into one show.
Re: Kiss - You Wanted The Best... Question
I've been doing KISS stuff because they were my whole life from about 9 or 10 into my teens well after everyone else thought they sucked (and beyond) and I know their music backwards and forward. I could probably do Beatles, Floyd and few others, but their fans are probably worse than KISS fans about changing stuff, haha. oddly enough, WAY before AI I used to make "stereo" Beatles mixes for myself back in around 1994 where I'd split the guitars and keys/strings into faux stereo and then run drums and vocals up the center, etc. Not too different from what they are doing with the old mixes the last few years actually.Charles Bukaki wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2025 7:10 pm Hey Wiseacre, are your remixes all Kiss centric, or do you do other bands? I did mess with some other stuff though but I've spent so much time on the KISS stuff there isn't much other time. For example, I did a Priest remix of "Victim of Changes" using Les Binks' awesome drumming from Unleashed in the East, but all re-sampled to sound like Sad Wings. I never posted it though since my channel is all KISS fans.
I do my own music too, but have taken a break for all the KISS projects. I finished an entire album 2 years ago that is just waiting for my to write lyrics for, but got side-tracked on this stuff when the whole "Sam Loomis" things started.
here's a video I made using my iPhone, laptop and stock YouTube footage for my last album back in 2021...

Even being retired and being one of these guys who sleeps 4-5 hours a night I'd still need like 60 hours in a day to do half the stuff I want to do. I have literally worked on this ELDER thing every single day for hours since last summer.
p.s. "Charles Bukaki" might be the best Sludge name since "Geezer's Butler"

Paul is totally checking him out. Gene's looking at him like the check bounced.BernieTaupson wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 8:46 am Important KISStard Communiqué :
Members of the KISStard Army who exhibit the following signs of aging should refrain from calling others “BernieLowT”
- Male pattern balding
- Decrease in muscle mass
- An increase in breast tissue (gynaecomastia)
- Increased body fat (particularly around the belly)
- Water retention/bloating (particularly about the face, chin and neck)
- Hot flashes (incl reddening of the skin)
Less testosterone tends to mean more belly fat. It's common for men to lose testosterone as they age, however weight gain can accelerate the process. Staying active and eating healthy can help men avoid the annoying habit of developing the infamous "pot belly."
Exhibit A :
End of communique.
