From this entire thread so far, this is the only phrase I've actually heard people use!

The only other one I can think of is office people calling each other "rock stars" when they hand in a quarterly report on time or something like that. Being a washed up, never was rock star myself, it kills me a little each time I hear that.

Sports stars, during interviews, everything and everyone is "special."

Also prevalent in sports but now has bled to everyone, "LET'S GOOOOOOO!!!" over any little fucking thing.

None of these, but I'm going to try to incorporate more of them into future posts now.

This one management peer was sending a Teams message only to me and still could not speak like a normal person.

"I'll be out of the office tomorrow...Can I identify you as my alternative escalation contact?"

Why the fuck not say, in case of something urgent, can they call you?

I already want to beat the shit out of him for being so stupid, then this shit. His LinkedIn is 100% ChatGPT. Business Capability Leader. You're a fucking IT Manager.

You probably played good employee and said "yes" to being the contact though. Did you tell him you hope he has a great day?

How many days until retirement?

I did not. I often ignore his messages since we are remote. He can't mosey over to my desk. I'm not a good employee anymore. I'm cashing a paycheck on doing as little as I can. I'll admit, I used to try but realized it makes no difference.

Retirement? Too fucking long. Somewhere around 1200 days.

I've considered it. I see my doc twice a year for a med check. I'm always tempted to ask if there is a way to go on disability. Since I work from home, and it's an office job, injury isn't enough. I need a mental breakdown or something.

Most of the good ones have already been mentioned above.

I'll add...

Bullshit office/business/marketing fluff. I work at a marketing agency so you can imagine all types of shit like "tailored solutions" and "meeting your objectives." Fortunately we've wiped that crap from all creative we put out, but it's still EVERYWHERE in the industry.

Slang-wise, "rizz"...wtf is that? I only recognize it as Anthony Rizzo's nickname, but apparently its something else.

"Say it louder for people in the back." Kids, just say you agree with whatever point it is.

Do people still say "on point" or even worse..."on fleek"? What the fuck did that ever mean?

I'm a writer by trade and make shit up all the time, including words/names/places, etc. But some of this new-age made up slang is so cringe (see what I did there?)

At work when you see another employee and you say “hey, how are you?” And the response is the cookie cutter “ livin’ the dream” or “just another day in paradise”. Basically saying “I’m miserable”.

“Sorry. Not sorry” is pretty lame too

Because I am so white "It's been a minute" at first never registers as slang to me and I need to process it through my white guy to slang converter before I get it.

I watch a lot of "Karen bodycam arrest" videos and for many years I've had a strong dislike of the police. I still do for the most part considering some of the shit I see them pulling on those videos, but I have come to appreciate what a pain in the ass their job can be and some of the complete fucking morons that they have to deal with day in and day out.

For example it never fails that every single person I've heard use the phrase "I know my rights" almost always has no clue as to what their rights actually are. The cops must want to strangle the person every time they have to hear that phrase. Or also "name and badge number" like the cops are suddenly on the defensive when they hear that stupid phrase as well. That is probably why I enjoy those videos because I get to see the police get yelled at and spit on and then it is always quickly followed up with the idiot that did it getting their ass handed to them and them flipping out. Especially the videos with women. So many of them absolutely freak out when they run into the cop that doesn't take any of their shit. They almost always pull the "but I'm a mother" or "I have kids at home, you can't arrest me" card. As well as "DON'T TOUCH ME!" For some reason a lot of women are under the impression that a male cop cannot go "hands on" with them.

Oh, that brings me to my answer for the question asked...I can't stand it when I hear somebody (90% of the time a woman) say "they put their hands on me" followed by the obligatory "bro." I can't stand that.

A lot of great answers in this thread though.
