Michaels is among the all-time greatest, but I don't think Collinsworth
is anywhere near as great.

Michaels could do the game alone and the broadcast would be great!

Buck could not carry Al Micheal's luggage :)

Buck is horrible as a baseball broadcaster and NFL.
The sole reason he is in that booth is because the guy is from the midwest, says nothing controversial at all, does not drink or do drugs and his father was considered a legend

I don't care for the Buck/Aikman team. I don't care for the FOX coverage in general. In addition to not caring for the play-by-play and commentary, I also don't like some of the camera angles they use. Especially that stupid field level end zone cam that makes you miss the play as it develops. I dreaded the couple of times that I had to watch the New England games on Fox when they played NFC teams. The last time I turned off the TV volume and listened to the local radio play-by-play.

Agreed, outside of Michaels/Collinsworth, I would say Jim Nantz and Phil Simms are at the top of my list. They at least let each other speak.

Indy is interviewing Ravens Defensive Coordinator Chuck Pagano. Either they were waiting for him (or another candidate) to be finished all along or they realized that Tressel would be in over his head.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/74952 ... ns-tuesday

Source: Colts to talk to Chuck Pagano

Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano will interview for the Indianapolis Colts' head coaching vacancy Tuesday, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Pagano's Ravens were eliminated from the playoffs Sunday in a heartbreaking 23-20 loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game.

This season was Pagano's first in charge of the vaunted Ravens' defense. Pagano followed Greg Mattison, who left Baltimore after two seasons as defensive coordinator for the same position at the University of Michigan in January 2011.

Under Pagano, Baltimore allowed the third-fewest points and yards in the league in 2011. Safety Ed Reed, linebackers Ray Lewis and Terrell Suggs and nose tackle Haloti Ngata also made the Pro Bowl under Pagano.

According to multiple reports, the Colts have already interviewed former Ohio State Buckeyes coach Jim Tressel twice for the position.

Tressel, who resigned in May after an NCAA scandal that enveloped the Ohio State football program, was hired by former Colts coach Jim Caldwell in September to be a game-day consultant in a role that allowed him to work from the team's coaches booth and advise Caldwell about replay reviews.

Caldwell was fired in an offseason house cleaning by owner Jim Irsay following a 2-14 season.

The Colts played the season without Peyton Manning, who had his third neck surgery in September.

The day after they locked up the No. 1 overall draft pick, Irsay fired team vice chairman Bill Polian and his son, general manager Chris.

Irsay wrote on his Twitter account Saturday that he expects to decide on a new coach next week.

Looks like Belichick may have reverse-iced the kicker. From "Tuesday Morning Quarterback": As Cundiff ran onto the field, Belichick motioned toward the side judge, which is what coaches do when they plan to try an icing timeout. But Belichick never called the icing timeout. Reverse psychology!

Looks as though Cundiff and Harbaugh assumed Belichick was going to call the timeout so they didn't bother. Perhaps Cundiff figured the kick wouldn't count anyway and was just going through the motions. That would certainly explain why his timing was off.

Peyton Manning, still trying to get healthy after missing the 2011 season because of neck surgery, described the Indianapolis Colts' facilities as "not a real good environment" at the moment and said he has "no idea" if he'll be with the team next season.

In an exclusive interview with The Indianapolis Star, Manning said owner Jim Irsay will make the final call on whether the team picks up his $28 million bonus in early March or decides to cut him loose.
He also said the firing of Jim Caldwell and resulting upheaval of the staff has affected him as he attempts to return to the field next season.

"I'm not in a very good place for healing, let's say that," he told the newspaper. "It's not a real good environment down there right now, to say the least. Everybody's walking around on eggshells. I don't recognize our building right now. There's such complete and total change."

So jim "Snyder" irsay is making one of the most important personell decisions in team history?

That team is a huge mess and stuff like manning's comments are just the tip of the iceberg.

Yeah, sure sounds like that to everyone except Pinhead13. Manning himself said it was Irsay's call.

It seems on the surface to be very much Snyder-like. But doesn't Snyder have more of a tendency to kiss the asses of his stars instead of alienating them?

Maybe Irsay is positioning himself to take over the bat-shit crazy owner spot recently vacated by Al Davis?

Manning is obviously miserable.

He'll be a jet next season. He'll love living near his bro, and unless both teams make the super bowl they won't have to play each other (jets giants don't play each other again for 3 or 4 years)

I can't see Manning and Ryan co-existing. And I still say that a guy who has played in domes all these years and who has sucked every time he's faced bad weather is not going to want to go somewhere where he has to face the elements, all things being equal.

Manning will want to win right away. He's 35 years old. He isn't going to want to go somewhere for a rebuild. So all those shit teams that say they will be after him won't do anything other than drive up his price. You have to look at the teams that have everything in place except a QB.

You gotta get over the "bad weather" angle. And for real, New Jersey isn't exactly Green Bay. It was cold for 2 home games this year.

It's like I said last week, anything is possible. Peyton could end up on another team. But I still believe if he is healthy, he will be a Colt. He said it himself in that article, he'd like to stay with the same team and city he's been in since his career started. I'm sure Irsay will have no problem paying him the money, if he's healthy. After all, Irsay payed him $26 million last year and he did not play a down. Irsay said just a few weeks ago, if Peyton's healthy, he'll be a Colt.

If Peyton does end up getting released, as much as that scenario is like a stake through my heart, I see him going only to a contender. So you can eliminate pathetic franchises like the Redskins, Jets, Cardinals, Dolphins, and Texans right away.

I love how this year's awesome season has been downgraded to "well, what's gonna happen next year" since the super bowl is incredibly uninteresting.

Don't many of the 'contenders' have franchise QBs already? Clearly, the difference between Peyton and no Peyton can be significant, given the Colts' 2011 season.

New York may not be cold until December but it certainly is an outdoor cold weather site in January. While it may not be the main factor in his decision it will certainly be part of it. The main reason for not going there is that Manning and Ryan will not get along. No way. And that team needs a house cleaning. Why the hell would he want to go there when there are better options for him?

I think San Fran is a viable option. They have everything in place except a QB. Harbaugh will backburner Smith in a heartbeat if Manning is healthy and available. Smith is still a game manager, Manning can win games.

Jacksonville might be in play because they have a ton of cap space(I think it's projected at $45M), some building blocks in place, and an owner that needs to fill his stadium. Think Manning might like playing in Florida, handing off to Jones-Drew and throwing to a tandem of UFA receivers such as DeSean Jackson and Dwayne Bowe?

There are a lot of shit teams that will make a play for him, and there are teams that are publicly vying for him, but I think he'll go somewhere that may not be on the radar yet.

P13 is clueless yet again. Houston has a very good QB already, and they were the best team in the AFC until Schaub went down. They outplayed a tough Baltimore team on the road and only lost because they had a no-name rookie 3rd string QB starting. If Schaub was playing they would have had the bye and there's a good possibility we are talking about Houston going to Indy next week. They have zero need for Manning.

Yeah, I don't see how they're a 'pathetic franchise' when they won a playoff game this year and might very well have gone farther under better circumstances.

Every single one of the "pathetic franchises" P-13 listed was a better team than the Colts this season.

Pinhead is just trolling. He knows they'd have no interest in Manning. Schaub isn't all that great, but he's good enough and he won't be going anywhere for the next 3 years or so at least. Schaub's "pathetic franchise" will be one of the AFC favorites next year. Wherever Manning goes, I think a chance at a ring will be the biggest priority. He'll go someplace that is a good QB away. The Jets, if they're ready to give up on Sanchez, are probably the strongest bet, but San Fran would be pretty interesting too.
