The colts DID tank the 2011 season. A colts website even says so, citing other journalists who believe the same!
http://www.stampedeblue.com/2011/12/12/ ... g-the-2011
I think they're doing it.
Bob Kravitz thinks they're doing it.
Mike Florio thinks they're doing it.
Howard Bryant thinks they're doing it.
And now, you can chalk the Baltimore Sun's Mike Preston up as yet another person who thinks the Colts front office is intentionally tanking the season to move up in the draft order.
The Colts are terrible. They are pathetic and one of the worst teams in NFL history, including some of those from Cincinnati. Upon further review, the league needs to watch film of the Colts to determine if they are playing this poorly just to obtain Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck as the No. 1 overall pick.
Preston also seems to be flinging bird dung at the Colts meme that, despite being 0-13, the team hasn't quit.
The Colts quit because they no longer have any heart.
The Ravens receivers made it look like a seven-on-seven passing drill and they had to be laughing about all those 10- to 12-yard comeback routs. Indianapolis was so bad that even when they went to nickel or dime coverage, they often forgot to cover running back Ray Rice.
How can you not cover the other team's top offensive star?
Folks, it's Week 14 and this team still doesn't have a win. Of course the players have quit. Some of them, at least. That's understandable, to a degree. This is a demoralized, talent-less roster crafted and managed by incompetent personnel executives who have no business working in the jobs they currently hold. The players know this. They aren't dumb. They aren't blind. They know why the team stinks, and that the people truly in charge at West 56th Street are clueless.
Consider this: as frustrated as you and I are with Bill Polian's idiotic ramblings about 'little things' needing to be fixed, imagine how the players feel when they hear it! They have to listen to that guy say such nonsense every. single. day.
After a season of finger-pointing, excuse-making, and general front office incompetence, the players would not be human friggin beings if, at some point, they let up. As we've said from the very beginning, while the players do bare some of the responsibility for this historically terrible season, the people who carry a majority of the 'who f*cked up?' burden are the Polians and their front office.
The more this team loses, and the more allegations surface that Bill and his son Chris are tanking the 2011 season, the more glaringly obvious it should be to owner Jim Irsay that he needs to cut ties with these bozos if he wants to remain credible, as an owner, in the eyes of fans and the media.

Quit being so pissed that a WR for most of his college career is a higher rated rookie than Luck. I notice you don't even deny not being a real dolphins fan. Just like Levy, you're only a "fan" of the team when they're good. When they suck, you move on to other flavors of the month. You probably look at who has the most jersey sales and become a fan of that player/team.
What a loser. I wonder who you will become a fan of next year when the Redskins and RG3 suck.

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
I post here week in week out whether Miami wins or loses, they're rebuilding I've accepted that and don't expect them to be a threat to NE for awhile. But I can be objective, right here in this thread I've went on record that at one point Luck was outplaying Griffin but then He fell fast and hard and threw a ton of picks and now finds himself toward the bottom of the QB barrell. It's not personal with Luck it's just fun shoving the facts in Your face that He was hyped up every bit as RG3 but was simply outclassed by him this year, You just can't handle that shit so you cry like a little bitch which isent surprising coming from a little lap dog.poizond13 wrote:I notice you don't even deny not being a real dolphins fan. Re: NFL 2012 Thread
For one thing the RG3/Luck debate has been a popular topic in the NFL since the draft, So it's been an intersting year watching not just those 2 but the entire rookie class, but of course those 2 will get the majority of the attention, that and it's fun watching P13 wallow in his misery. There is some actual debate in between kicking greg around.AliceManson wrote:

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
Damn, I knew Marino was the only rookie to start but I didn't realize he was the only one selected til' now, the accolades keep piling up. And to be a little nice to gregg Had Luck not gone into a funk He had a good shot there for awhile,it remains to be seen but this QB rookie class with RG3, Luck and Wilson could rival the 83' class, They have a good shot considering Elway, Marino and Kelly Were the only real superstars that emerged. Ken O brien was solid but not in the others league and the other guys don't really count.

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
Season finale on Sunday. Several coaches should be coaching their last game. Who is getting fired, and who will be their replacements?
My thoughts:
San Diego
Turner --> Reid or Arians
Turner should have been gone a long time ago. SD will be cleaning house next week.
Kansas City
Crennel --> Arians or Caldwell
Crennel is not head coach material. He'll hook on as a coordinator somewhere. Pioli should be gone too. KC needs to start over and rebuild - yet again.
Philadelphia
Reid --> Gruden
Reid lost the team and it's time for a change. I see them going after Gruden and giving him complete control. Reid will take a year off and then hook on with another team in 2014.
Cleveland
Shurmur --> Chip Kelly
Another organization needing a complete housecleaning. They are also rumored to be looking at Josh McDaniels, but that would be a mistake as he isn't ready for another shot as a head coach. Kelly has had success at Oregon, and it might be time for Cleveland to try something different. Kelly's brand of hurry-up would need modification to work in the NFL, but it certainly would be interesting.
Buffalo
Gaily --> Does it really matter?
The problem in Buffalo is ownership. Yeah, they under-performed given their roster, but a coaching change won't help an organization that is unstable at the top.
NY Jets
Ryan --> ?
Ryan might get one more year, but the organization is going to see changes. Ryan might go too if NY thinks can land a big name who will want complete control since the GM is a gonner. I could see them making a run a Gruden.
Thoughts?

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
I've never "cheered" for a Head Coach more than Romeo Crennel, but he's proven that his coaching style doesn't work as the head mofo in charge. He can be a Defensive Coordinator for any team in the league and he'll probably go somewhere where he can add to his Super Bowl rings. Such a nice guy, really wish he had more success as a HC, but I digress.SkyDog112046 wrote:Season finale on Sunday. Several coaches should be coaching their last game. I disagree about Cleveland needing a rebuild. Throw in a real coach and a real QB and that team is ready to win.

Whomever hired Reid is making a big mistake. He's done. fisher 2.0.
Caldwell Will never get another coaching Job, what are you smoking?
I dont think Gruden will be back either. Why bother? He's got a great thing going now as a talking head.
And is the point where people stop bringing up Cowher?

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
I can see all those teams looking for new coaches except maybe Buffalo and as far as their replacements I have no idea.
Wouldn't be surprised if Dallas doesn't make a change after they get beat this Sunday but the Saints just locked up Payton to a new contract and that's who Jerry would have wanted.

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
Have to disagree with ya Levi on your assesment of Jeff Fisher I think he's a pretty good coach and had the Rams playing some good ball at times this year without much to work with.
I'd also like to see Sam Bradford do good but that's just the OU homer in me.

Agree on Gruden, Cowher, and Ryan. Totally disagree on Fisher and Reid. Two top tier coaches right there.Crazy Levi wrote:Ryan isn't going anywhere, this season.
