You really think so? The SEC has a HUGE fan base, and I imagine they're frothing at the mouth over this. I'll pass though thanks.NeverSurrender wrote:This will be the least watched BVS title game yet, and it might actually help us out with getting a playoff. I hate OU State(Sooner fan), but that team certainly does deserve to be ranked #2 and play against LSU.
There is an extreme bias out there and those people should all lose their job and be replaced with sound minds.

The experts once again have it all wrong and are doing an injustice to Ok St. They have played well enough to deserve the shot again LSU.
Bama had their chance and lost at home.
Why or how does that program deserve a 2nd chance?

OSU lost to Iowa State dude. Alabama lost to LSU. I think OSU played a tougher schedule, and there's a good argument for them, but I don't think it's the travesty you're making it out to be.

Who cares if OSU lost to Iowa St.
The point is, Bama had their opportunity(at home) and they blew it.
OSU deserves their opportunity to defeat LSU.
Why have a rematch???

Because its supposed to be the best two teams in the country. A loss to a bad Iowa St team hurts more than a very close loss to the best team in the country.Machado wrote:From my view, the situation is a travesty.bane wrote:OSU lost to Iowa State dude. Iowa State gave number ten Kansas State all they could handle on Saturday. I know because it was being shown at the bar down the street at which I happened to be.

Yes, but K State won. OSU didn't. I know its all subjective. That's what's wrong with the BCS system. My point was just that Alabama getting in over OSU isn't the crime some make it out to be. There are good arguments either way.

That would mean the head to head is 1-1, but Bama is the champ because
they were fortunate enough to lose the 1st game, and fortunate enough to win the 2nd game.
WTF!!!

Re: BCS Title Game....
People keep saying "Bama already had their shot" against LSU..and they did, in the regular season. They lost, by 3 points, in overtime. Now, lets say this loss was to another high ranked team...Bama was #2 at the time, and only dropped to #3...had they dropped to #5 they still would have made their way back to #2 thanks to all the other teams losing...and you would still have them playing for the BCS Championship. The fact that they lost to LSU already should not mean that they dont get to play in the NC against that same LSU team...both teams were ranked accordingly.
I want to see LSU vs Alabama again..because I believe it will be a totally different ballgame than the first show. No way in hell will Nick Saban come out and play a "weak" first half like the first game...nor will Les Miles. Miles and LSU are going to come out guns blazing and try to dismantle Alabma..to make the point about LSU being the best, as well as making Bama look like they didnt deserve to be there.
This right here may be the year that someone with some power makes the BCS review their policies and come up with a better system to keep this from happening.

Already said I'm a casual fan. I don't care. Just saying I'd watch them play again. Arguments like these with rankings are why pro sports are better. There's a clear winner in all of the four majors. College 'rankings' are the subjective equivalent of rooting for gymnastics.

They called the first one the "game of the century". These two teams are already bitter rivals and will be playing for the BIG fucking prize this time.
Machado doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. This is going to be a game for the history books. You bet your ass. Don't watch it, you dumb fuck. Your loss.

Drink some more over there idiot!
The 1st game was over hyped and now the 2nd game will surpass that
hype before the two teams arrive in Phoenix.

Phoenix? How weird is it that LSU gets what amounts to a home game? How far is NOLA from Red Stick? 2 hours, 3 if the bridge traffic sucks?exitflagger wrote:What the fuck is going on in Phoenix?Machado wrote:Drink some more over there idiot!

Hey, LSU had no say so in where the game was scheduled to be played. Bama couldn't seal the deal on their own turf, let's see how a Superdome full of obnoxious, shit-faced cajuns suits em.

BTW: The SEC Championship game was basically a Georgia home game too. Didn't do them a lot of good.

And bane, this makes perfect sense in their shitty system, but when you read the debates, you can just tell how ridiculous the whole thing is when you read the points.
This team beat this team, but they didn't beat them on the road, or in the rain, but team B lost to team a, but now we don't know, because team c beat team M by 40 yesterday, but team b lost to them by 3. It's just stupid, and it's only this way, because the rich fucks are getting richer.
I'm stopped arguing team a is better than team B because they beat team C by 4 more points when I was 10 years old, but these fucks act like it's right on.
I'm telling you, a lot of people may watch this, but a lot of the country will tune it out. More people than normal, for sure.

Re: BCS Title Game....
I don't care about Boise because their schedule is so weak, but not getting an invite to the BCS again is absurd. Finally their coach has the balls to talk publicly about the system and the need for change.
Boise State coach Chris Petersen unleashed his frustration with the BCS on Monday, telling local reporters that "everybody is just tired" of the system.
The No. 7 Broncos (11-1) were left out of the BCS for the fourth time in eight years. They were passed over as an at-large selection in favor of No. 11 Virginia Tech (11-2) and No. 13 Michigan (10-2). The Hokies have not beaten a team ranked in the Top 25 this season.
"Everybody is just very tired of the BCS," Petersen said. "I think that's the bottom line. Everybody is frustrated. Everybody doesn't really know what to do anymore. It doesn't make sense to anybody. I don't think anybody is happy anywhere."
Petersen added, "The whole thing needs to be changed, there's no question about it," he said. " ... I think (change) is coming, I really do."
This is the first time since the BCS expanded to five games that a team outside of the conferences with automatic qualifying bids failed to make a BCS game. No one-loss non-automatic qualifier has ever been selected for a BCS game, either.

Boise State's fans are redneck cheapskates.
They don't contribute as much financially to the bowl host city's economy as BETTER TRAVELING schools do. That's the SOLE reason that Va Tech and Michigan were selected OVER them. They will bring fans that will spend 5-7 days in New Orleans hotels - dine out at actual restaurants (not McDonald's like the BSU fans would) and SPEND LOTS OF money while they're there. Boise State fans would fly in (or more likely DRIVE in) the day before the game and leave the day after.
They have EARNED that "poor" reputation from their past travels.
They have no "right" to be in a BCS bowl.
Had they gone UNDEFEATED, they'd WOULD be in a BCS bowl, regardless.
They didn't.

Of course it's about money. Once you get beyond the champ game, the rest of the bowls are about nothing but money. Does anybody even keep track of standings beyond #1 and 2?
