It was a terrible mistake to change the team back from the Greece game. I said it before, the Bayern guys couldn't bring it after choking short of winning all three club level objectives. Pretty much all of them disappointed throughout the tournament, so let's bring in an extra one against Italy, instead of Klose, Reus, Schürrle, Götze, Gündogan, Bender etc.

I'm in 2 minds as to whether to bother with the final. Italy have shown more going forward than they sometimes do, probably because they aren't as strong defensively, but Spain are boring as fuck. And Italy might revert to type against them thinking it's the best way to win. I'll decide at game time I guess.

It's actually a good game, and I'm not just saying that out of disdain for the pasta boys. Apparently, Spain saved their enthusiasm for last.

Okay, so even though it was mostly an exciting game with the deserving winner, I can't quite be happy about the result. Spain was denied a clear penalty! What a travesty. The highest loss in final history should have hurt Italy even more.

If they shot more instead of pissing about in the penalty box, they could have a boatload. Frustrating to watch at times but they are bloody good.

They finally showed up with spirit. I hate to admit it, they are very hard to beat. I wish they had played like this throughout the tournament.
