What kind of mattress do you all?

I’m on the prowl for a new mattress, Preferably a pillow top. What was your last mattress purchase and how much did you lay out?

We recently bought an overpriced pillow top and I hate it. No support, makes my hips and knees sore.

None. I'm too tall to be comfortable in most beds/mattresses without my feet hanging off the edge or sleeping diagonally, so a couple years ago I bought one of those huge 8-foot bean bag beds (ComfySacks); pricey (at $499 for the 8x8 foot bed) but worth it. More comfortable than any bed I've slept in.

Pillow tops suck! We have one. Can’t flip it. Don’t care what the ads say…you need to be able to flip your mattress. Next one won’t be a pillow top. Fuck that.

Sleep Number. I kinda hate it. Very overpriced for what it is. We have had it around 6 years thought so that's a plus. Supposed to last a lifetime. I can't tell any wear or give in the mattress so it can't be that bad but I don't know. Just don't feel as nice as it should for the price IMO.

We have a pillow top now. I'm not sure I like it. I feel like it takes two inches off either side of the bed because it dips down.
On the regular mattress, I had a down featherbed, and a down mattress pad. I'm sure how much softer it needs to be. it doesn't seem as supportive as a regular spring mattress.
