I've liked this song since I first heard it on the Desmond Child album decades ago. I prefer his version even though he's not like the greatest vocalist.

I prefer the Desmond Child version of this song as well. I didn’t even know Bonfire recorded a version of this until very recently.

I love his solo album but it took me by surprise at first because I was expecting something like Alice Cooper Trash! It was adult contemporary with a little rock in there. This was probably the most rockin' song. Which came first, his version or Bonfire?
Love on a Rooftop: Cher recorded
I Don't Want to be Your Friend: Cyndi Lauper recorded
I think that was it. I don't know if anything else was recorded by anyone else.
Great record. His fairly recent live album is worth checking out too!

Yeah, I was expecting it to be more "rock" as well. Price of Loving You was my favorite - the rest is good to meh for me. I also expected like nothing but catchy as fuck songs and some were a slog for me. With all that said, I still give it a full listen every so often.

Bonfire's version came out first in 1989 but I don't think it was released in the US, they would have airplay with "Sword And Stone" from the Shocker soundtrack but no album to capitalize it on ,DonJuanDeMarco wrote: ↑Thu Jun 12, 2025 11:11 amI love his solo album but it took me by surprise at first because I was expecting something like Alice Cooper Trash!
