Classic. Still drop that line all the time.
"The Cancer" Iverson was awesome here in Philly.
Good riddance.

The news conference when he signed with the Pistons was pretty funny:

Re: Allen Iverson "Practice" 10th Anniversary
The one season he shut the fuck up and listened to Larry Brown was the best of his career. If he wasn't such an egotisical fuckhead and if he would have transitioned into a pass first player, he could have won a title.
Instead, you got practice.

That cancer put the team on his back and got them to the finals in 2001. I have respect for his work on the court that year. Every other part of him screams dickhead.John Simon Ritchie wrote:Classic. Still drop that line all the time.

Yep. Dude played hurt, etc and I agree, he carried them, doesn't make him less of a Cancer in the locker room and to his coaches, etc.WhiteHouseSubsAC wrote:That cancer put the team on his back and got them to the finals in 2001. He's the last real exciting player the NBA has seen, imo. I haven't watched much since he left.
Nobody played harder than him. Imagine if he displayed the work ethic in practice that he had in the game.

Re: Allen Iverson "Practice" 10th Anniversary
Your best player has to be the hardest worker for the winning attitude to catch on with the less talented players. Especially in the NBA. That Sixers team would have been a lot more successful if Iverson had any kind of ethic. That said I loved watching that midget play. His style nearly got him killed nightly (it's why I want D Rose to not play like that when he returns).NeverSurrender wrote:He's the last real exciting player the NBA has seen, imo. He's like the Liberace of bass & pot.

Re: Allen Iverson "Practice" 10th Anniversary
Kills me that there is a whole generation of kids who listened to his "practice" rant and took it to heart. Said sooooo much about him and the way he viewed being part of a team. When he was good he was great. When he was surly, he was a true infection upon his team and the league.
It's hard for me to get used to these changing times. I can remember when the air was clean and sex was dirty.
