Re: How much did Trash help Alice Cooper?
I'm actually surprised Trash didn't sell more. Poison was a massive song. Alice's manager Shep Gordon deciding it was best to not allow Desmond Child to produce the next album was an absolutely massive mistake. "Hey Stoopid" has some great material, but it's missing that big hit Desmond C...

Anybody know how many of these guys are the originals? Two... Ivan and his brother Colin are originals. Anyone heard their hard rock-leaning record from 1991? The guitars were starting to creep into the two albums prior (but they kept the sound based in synth-pop). It's not half bad... You can tell...

And $800,000 to have Desmond Child write the songs and produce the album. I’m currently re-reading the 2023 book “World Infestation: The RATT story.” Man, this band was in shambles by this juncture and had no lyrics written ad thought the money would never run dry. The realist was, the band should ...

Yes i recall Conan being pretty geeky and awkward when he started. He was able to turn it into his shtick later, but at the time it was who he was and he couldn't really control it. Agree with you that altho Magic may have been objectively worse, CC was a bigger disappointment because he was expect...

In that time period, bubbling in the underground were the truly great pop/rock songwriters of that generation: Jon Brion, Jason Falkner, Andy Sturmer, Kevin Gilbert - people like that. And Steven Wilson was already getting going. No joke there.... The Grays and Jellyfish were two of the most underr...

Steve Vai's band Vai. He's not much of a songwriter. If he was gonna go that route, he needed to collaborate and not run the whole show. ITA. Him hooking up with the bald screamer ruined his career. Ego run rampant. It would have worked a lot better if Devin wasn't "just the singer". I be...

It started with Lost Highway. To me, they peaked with the Have A Nice Day album and tour. Sure, the album had a couple clunkers...but the tour was close to their best. It's the last time they were a true rock band...or as much of a rock band that Bon Jovi could be. I'll second this one... That Lost...

I see what you mean, but she barely wrote any songs, 2 per album or so. Poor Lou.... I think he'd much rather sing one of the rockers than that song. He can still pull off most of the Foreigner material (maybe not a few of the high notes).
You can tell he's not thrilled to be singing it.

I've seen bands charge more than the ticket price for M&G...more often than not, it's just a picture and about 30 seconds of face time... no autographs or anything... and it doesn't include access to the show, it's just asinine.
