Being a Rocker in a conservative area
How many of you grew up in a conservative, or rural, area and wanted to be Rockers? Did the people around you give pushback? Did you experience discrimination? Ever get into a scuffle?

I got more pushback from the liberal people in my life. My father was a hard core liberal. He was by far the loudest voice against me liking rock and metal.Rocker4Real wrote: ↑Sun Aug 24, 2025 6:01 am How many of you grew up in a conservative, or rural, area and wanted to be Rockers? Oh yeah. They said I’d never make it. That nothing good would ever happen to me. And they were right.

When rock was good it was about excellence - not slovenliness like the left of today.
Japan is conservative.

I can't speak for the scene in Japan. I did not follow it back in the day. What are some examples of excellence in Rock from your perspective?DangerZone wrote: ↑Sun Aug 24, 2025 12:14 pm When rock was good it was about excellence - not slovenliness like the left of today.
