Is Shinedown REAL Rock?

Pop band with guitars. Singer is great, but aside from "Second Chance", everything I have heard has been forgettable/generic.

Yeah of course it is rock music. Not one I enjoy. But they sound more "rock" than a lot of the bands discussed here frequently.

Their first two albums had a great southern rock feel. their cover of "Simple Man" is tremendous. "The Sound of Madness" is brilliant, and "Amarylis" had some moments. After that it became formulaic.

One of my absolute favorite Shinedown songs, despite it not being one of their popular ones.

I'm taking my 8 and 12 year old kids to see Shinedown in a few weeks.

Are they a bit more commercial than I would like? Yeah, sure. Have they crossed over a bit too far into the pop territory? Probably.

But they are a good band with a great singer and very good songs.

I saw them at NAMM in 2013. It was a really good show.
They are one of those bands that I didn't think I knew well, but I knew better than I thought?
I definitely enjoyed that show more than I expected to.

"Leave A Whisper" was great in it's original form, not the re released version. After that they've been eh. Like most bands, they blew their wad with that first album. They are now just a pop band.

A great singer and very good songwriting. Band could even be better if the lead singer sang live for at least a portion of the show and guitars Zach Myers shut his mouth on social media. His ego has put the band in bad light for quite a while.

All the 80s rock and metal bands from Van Halen, Ozzy and Scorpions to Cinderella, Skid Row and Trixter.

I enjoyed the show. Lots of pyro, which I'm a sucker for. And the singer sounds great. I didn't get lip-syncing vibes if that's what was being suggested.

Yeah, that's one I've never heard before. If it is being suggested they use backing tracks, well, yeah, they openly admitted to that. But the lead vocals are live.

Not all the vocals are live. A lot of help involved.

His version is Simple Man is overwrought. I liked him better fat for some reason.
