Going to the movies in the previous years growing up in the 80s 90s did not result into any theater drama especially here in North Dakota. That was until….
The movie “Frailty” feat Bill Paxton debuted in theaters in 1999. It was then my roommate and l decided to check it out. Previews rolled in the theater as normal and there was less than 20 people in the theater as the movie had been around for a week or two. Around 45 minutes into the show there were a group of teenagers, 17/18 years old, watching the movie and one of the guys in the group started talking rather loud and eventually yelling out loud. At first we thought it was random and then he decided to announce after people try to shush him about quieting down. “I’m on Mushrooms, what do you expect me to do!? “ then subsequently went from the bottom row of seats to nearly the top row running over the top of the seats yelling out loud. A few couples split after this happened. The theater employee eventually entered the room after obvious complaints of this guys behavior and told everybody to leave the theater. We were given tickets for another free show as this absolute clown ruined this movie.

Not bc of other people. Single White Female. Was having an aural migraine during the movie and got violently sick. Barely made it out the emergency exit before projectile vomiting. Haven’t seen the end of the movie to this day or had a migraine so severe.
Haven’t been to a theater since 2018 or 19. Don’t miss it. Watching at home is far better.

Circa 20 years ago my wife and I went to the cinema and picked a movie at random. It turned out to be an Adam Sandler film. We walked out after 10 minutes. I still haven't got over the shame of people seeing us pay real money and voluntarily walk in to see that crud.

I took my kids to see Lord Of The Rings in an old towns tiny theatre. It had one screen , maybe 150 seats and an old ass sound system. It was far from ideal , but it was OK to start.. i soon realized that the locals were allowed to bring in food from home , because they only sold popcorn at the matinee show. The woman behind us pulled out a bag of carrots and celery to munch on. Of course with the shit ass sound system this was all i could hear. The guy two down was slurping on some stinky soup from a thermos..
we left half way through…it was pretty brutal.
