Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
To me, Raven has to be the most interesting wrestling character of all time. His original run in ECW was legendary. Such a strange but awesome gimmick. I remember the first time I got ahold of an ECW video tape, Raven was fighting Dreamer, and I just thought to myself that Raven was the coolest mother fucker of all time. On the same tape Dreamer piledrives Beulah which was a fuckin hoot too.
You guys should check out youtube for the Raven shoot interview. The guy has a pretty good grip on reality and he's one smart son of a bitch as well.

Raven is awesome.

Sorry... doesn't ring a bell. I looked all over WWE.com and see no mention of the guy you're talking about. Are you sure you got his name right?Drunken_Little_Elf wrote:

Weak rankings, full of mostly weak stables.
The low ranking for the Dangerous Alliance is a stunningly rude joke.

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
"Randy Orton has been telling friends that WWE offered him a 10-year contract, reports ProWrestling.net. Although there is still no word on whether Orton will agree to the deal, it says a lot about their faith in the young superstar. WWE is also trying to sign Rey Mysterio to a five-year deal."
If that's true, then they haven't learned their lesson from giving people these long contracts. All it takes is one injury and they're toast. Especially considering the wrestler's mentioned haven't been the best about staying injury free to begin with.

Rey Mysterio tripped on his ass tonight at the beginning of RAW. I laughed so loud I woke my dad up.

So I've got Nitro on right now on WWE 24/7... can someone explain to me how the fuck Larry Zybysko had a job? Holy fuck did he bring NOTHING to the table.

Hey I liked Larry when he'd ramble about his glorious career and wrestling in front of royalty. I think the fact he was paired with Chis Cruise a lot is why he came off as lame in the commentary booth.

WCW just had awful announcers in general. Besides Bobby Heenan and Tony Schiavone (who I just like for some reason) they all sucked.Sabu wrote:So I've got Nitro on right now on WWE 24/7... can someone explain to me how the fuck Larry Zybysko had a job? Holy fuck did he bring NOTHING to the table.

Santino's fall while trying to do Melina's ("Melanie") ring entrance cracked me the fuck up.
The overselling on his "groin injury" not so much.

This was the episode following Halloween Havoc 97. Larry was the ref for the Luger/Hall match the night before... I don't remember what happened after that match, but Zybysko was in the ring on Nitro challenging Hall (nothing like having the #3 heel in the company being called out by an announcer... but that was WCW for ya I guess).silent_eyes wrote:WCW just had awful announcers in general. Hall seemed extra lit on this night, but Larry was just completely awful. It was just flat out painful to listen to Zybysko... as an announcer he was terrible to begin with, but trying to cut a promo.. good god, it was just flat out horrible. Why the hell was he let near a mic, let alone try to do an exchange with Hall? The guy had the charisma of a dead elk...

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
My friend totally punked him out at a VERY small indy show a couple of years ago. It was when Larry was feuding with Raven and Raven had hit him in the head with a bag of thumbtacks. Larry was in the ring complaining saying "Yeah, Raven hit me with a bag of thumbtacks! Look at my head!"...Sabu wrote:This was the episode following Halloween Havoc 97. And my friend without missing a beat yells out "Yeah, we know you're bald!"
It's safe to say Larry hasn't came back to East TN since then. And he then went on to get a hair transplant.

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
Well I was reading some wrestling news and here is what I found out:
Hardcore Holly is in rehab for painkiller addiction.
Dolph Ziggler is actually Nick from The Spirit Squad.
Val Venis is inactive right now because of elbow surgery.
Umaga is inactive right now because of torn PCL.
Kevin Thorn is inactive right now for unknown reasons.

Where the fuck is Ted Dibiase Jr.?
They already can his ass? He's surely not still selling the Orton punt after 4 weeks. If it was a 30 day thing that's gotta be about up as well...but they didn't even so much as mention him this week.
If he's gone that sucks. If they get the Second Generation Heel Stable together without Teddy, that's like Van Halen touring without Mike dammit!

I think Ted Jr. has some serious potential. Needs to work on his mic skills a little, but I think he's going to develop into something pretty good.
Orton's the 3rd biggest heel in the company right now (although he's getting some pretty decent pops as of late). Having him lead a stable makes all the sense in the world as his heat could possibly give Cody and Manu a pretty good rub. Problem is... it's Cody and Manu! Cody has the charisma of a picked scab and Manu is... well... Manu.Fizban_McBangerkrieg wrote:Give Orten the title and start a posse with all those guys....

Poor Ted DiBiase Jr... you'd think he would have at least ended up in something better... like "No Holds Barred II."
I guess it beats being Mike DiBiase and doing indies/NWA.

Well they managed to top it at Starrcade that year with Bischoff/Zybysko being the Co-Main EventSabu wrote: This was the episode following Halloween Havoc 97. FUCKING WCW ANNOUNCERS!!!!
One of the most annoying things ever is when Hogan runs down to the ring to "save Luger" and the announcers is saying "well, just who's side is he on anyway, who's side is he on anyway"
Talk about ruining it for everybody you stupid fucks

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
Guys, we are interviewing Jim Ross tomorrow night. Post some questions for Good Ol' JR.
It will be up at http://www.mondaynightmayhem.com hopefully by Friday. Check out our Hogan interview from a few days ago too. The WWE is finally working with us now, even though they usually don't let their talent do "Internet shows" maybe it is because we used to be on Broadcast Radio. Anyway, they comped us third row, floor on the camera side for Armageddon so I'll be on a lot I hope.

My local record store has a copy of "The Monday Night Wars" for like 8 bucks...is it worth picking up? I had just gotten into wrestling around the time Nitro vs Raw was a big thing, is it worth watching?

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
There's apparently "talk" going around that the WWE are already brainstorming ideas for Kurt Angle's return next year. Always have liked the guy, but he needs to get his head screwed on straight before he jumps back in with Vince & the gang.
I think the next year or so will be a very telling time for TNA, they're VERY close to losing Christian, if he hasn't signed with the WWE already. Now, there's talk of Angle leaving. Wouldn't surprise me if the Dudleys jump ship as well.
