I never liked Snitsky. I am glad he is gone. Now lets get rid of Mike Knox and that stupid smiling jackass Jack Swagger and I will be happy.

At least Swagger can work and has potential...
I wonder who called Snitsky first, TNA or "NWA- Live From Hollywood."

Vince has lost money on almost every other venture he's invested in outside of WWE since he bought the company. Specifically, his foray into professional bodybuilding with the WBF back in the late '80s was a sizeable failure to tap into a trendy market. There's of course, the XFL and other ventures as well but his only real success has been with the wrestling business. It appears to me that he's doing the right thing right now from a financial standpoint at this point.Sabu wrote:I''m kind of surprised Vince hasn't attempted to get involved in MMA yet. Sabu, that "never forget" banner is funny and scary, all at the same time.
Well, I guess teaming up with Curryman is out. Curryman was fired last night. Okay by me, it ran it's course, bring back The Fallen Angel.

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
Chris Benoit had seen the damage done to Dynamite Kid and scaled back his bumps?
I'd like to say that him and his family may still be alive, but who knows?
Brock decided he'd rather be a wrestler?
For some reason I could see him in a similar position as to how they are using JBL or Kane at the moment. If I remember correctly, he was going to be fed to Undertaker immediately following WM20.
Owen had not broken Austin's neck?
He may still be wrestling today and I wouldn't be shocked if he was holding younger guys down.
Brian Pillman had not gotten into that car accident while he was recovering?
He would have hopefully recovered much sooner, and had never developed an addiction to painkillers.
Hogan was not a selfish prick and had just left the main event of WMIX alone?
Bret would have had a longer title reign.
Lex Luger had not run his mouth the day of WMX and gotten the title?
He probably would have ended up dropping it to Bret at some point in the future anyway.
Bret had dropped the title to Owen in 1997 instead of getting screwed over?
Shawn would have been a crybaby little bitch about it. But on a serious note, when was this ever a possibilty, as this is the first I've ever heard of it.

Daniels is the logical choice to join the Frontline side, because besides AJ and ManKaneByss, he's probably the guy most viewed as a TNA guy... BUT... The problem is... is there ANYONE who doesn't know Curry is Daniels? Him joining EITHER side cheapens the whole thing because if it was THAT important to him, he would have ditched the gimmick and taken a side a long time ago. The second he joins, the whole storyline loses a shitload of credibility, IMO.

Re: Re:
The problem with the XFL was there just wasn't enough talent there to make the thing work. But from a production standpoint... how many ideas has the NFL stolen from the XFL? Quite a bit. They did a huge rating that opening week... once people saw how bad the level of talent on the field were, they stayed far away. The Cusack wrote:Vince has lost money on almost every other venture he's invested in outside of WWE since he bought the company. The WBF was a disaster from the get go. Nothing could have changed that. Some even speculated that he only went through with it as a loophole to get Luger on TV while he was still under contract to WCW.
MMA is RED HOT right now. As boxing and MMA PPV buyrates show... if you have the names, people will pay to see it. Vince lands a few names and puts his production force behind a couple of shows, he could make it work. It could theoretically be no different for him than when he eliminated the competition in pro wrestling starting with the regional promotions and finish with WCW. Get the talent, put on better produced shows, create new stars and there you go.

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
Also in MMA, the contracts are usually done where someone owes 2-5 fights to a promotion. Who may be the face of one promotion today will be able to negotiate with anyone he wants to within a year or two. Of course it's harder to promote upcoming events if you don't have access to the films of their previous major bouts.
But I think Vince would have a hard time acknowledging other existing promotions when promoting a match featuring a former UFC champion. Plus the way he's trying to distance himself from anything with the word "sports' would lead to a lot of situations with state athletic commissions if he entered the MMA world.
BTW my new pitch to TNA for a Snitsky gimmick: SHARK MAN!!!

Hell, Austin was trying to hold guys down anyways. Remember him quitting because Vince wanted him to job to Eddie Guerro?Drunken_Little_Elf wrote:Chris Benoit had seen the damage done to Dynamite Kid and scaled back his bumps?

As for Bret dropping to Owen, it's kind of a hypothetical question. Bret was willing to drop the title to anyone except Shawn, so I picked Owen.
It could also have been, What if Bret had dropped the title to Vader (which he actually DID want to do) or even the Brooklyn Brawler (as has been mentioned a few times)?

Chris Benoit had seen the damage done to Dynamite Kid and scaled back his bumps?
Then Kevin Sullivan would have still murdered the whole lot of them [/conspiracy]
Brock decided he'd rather be a wrestler?
He'd be in TNA? Brock hated the travel, not so much the wrestling. If he stuck around with WWE he'd be in the main event of Mania every year. It was amazing how quick he picked up the business and how good he got in the ring in such a short period of time. The guy just got it... And he also probably wouldn't have a cock tattooed on his chest either.
Owen had not broken Austin's neck?
Good question. Hard to imagine how the Austin character wouldn't have completely run its course. Even towards his final days as an active performer he was getting pretty stale. He would have had to somehow tweaked the character, especially when WWE decided to tone down the product and characters.
As the intoxicated elf pointed out... could you really see him putting over some of the newer guys? If he wasn't going to put over Eddy, would he really have put over someone like Orton? If he wouldn't put over Brock, would he put over a Batista? Just don't see it happening. Hell, he could have put Santino over the last time he came back and he didn't do that either.
Brian Pillman had not gotten into that car accident while he was recovering?
He would have main evented a Wrestlemania against Austin and went on to become one of the most over guys on the planet.
Hogan was not a selfish prick and had just left the main event of WMIX alone?
He would have stuck around even longer and ruined future Wrestlemanias. And he would never have helped put WCW out of business. Funny how things work out...
Lex Luger had not run his mouth the day of WMX and gotten the title?
I again agree with the elf. Luger just wasn't going to work out either way.
Bret had dropped the title to Owen in 1997 instead of getting screwed over?
Sadly, Owen would probably be still alive if that scenario would have happened. I mean if you believe in the whole fate and chain of events type things... there was no way he would have been the Blue Blazer as he would have gotten himself over huge (possibly even bigger than Bret) if they would have given him the strap and let him run as a legit main eventer.
Either way... they totally dropped the ball with Owen after Montreal. They wouldn't let him out of his contract, so the logical thing to do should have been let him go completely serious and have a HUGE money feud with Michaels. I think after Montreal he did a run in on Shawn and that led to a feud with The H for the European title. Not exactly the way I would have gone with that at all...

The offical 'main event' of Mania 19 with Triple Bitch bombed, the crowd was dead, so Hogan saved it in most peoples eyes.

looks like Vince is de-valuing the tag title agian.
Miz&Morrison won the World Tag Team titles from Kofi and Punk at a house show in Hamelton Onterio Canada. Tag titles mean so little now that they don't even warrent a spot on a T.V. broadcast, much less a PPV? Wow.

I wish Lashley continued success in the world of MMA... If for no other reason, it will keep him out of wrestling rings.
