I don't think we'll get another TLC at a Mania as long as MITB is a part of the show. I just don't see them using that gimmick twice on the same card.YYC wrote:
I have to respectfully disagree with you here. Yes, Christian was a midcarder when he left, but that was because WWE kept burying him. The guy was over as fuck. There were peep sections at every show, and he was getting face pops when he was supposed to be a heel. And it would have made perfect sense for him to get involved (in the world of pro wrestling, anyway) with Edge and the Hardys since Edge is supposedly his brother. Come one, a TLC between those four at Mania? THAT would have been money in the bank (pardon the pun). From all of the sources I've heard and read, this was indeed the plan for him all along, but when the interwebz sniffed it out months in advance, they shitcanned it, which is insane.
No worries though, Batista's back.
I haven't been keeping up with SmackDown, but has Edge even gotten involved with the Matt & Jeff storyline yet? He's going to need a program shortly, and the Jeff/Matt storyline will need something to keep it fresh, that's why I still think there's a chance to align Matt with Edge and Jeff with Christian. They couldn't really do it before Mania because they probably wanted to sell Matt vs. Jeff first and have Edge drop the belt to Cena on that card. After Backlash it would make sense to add Edge and Christian into the mix of the Hardy feud and if you do things correctly, you blow it off with Edge & Matt vs. Christian & Jeff in a TLC at SummerSlam. By that time, if the match delivers (which I would expect it would), you could make legit main eventers out of Matt and Christian.
IF, and with WWE's "creative" geniuses that is a BIG IF, but if they are doing this thing the right way, Christian and Edge will get involved soon enough. That's why I didn't really mind that they used Christian to help boost ECW and Swagger, while at the same time reintroducing him to the old fans that don't watch TNA as well as the new WWE fans that don't know who he is.
Like I said... if the draft comes and goes and Christian is still on ECW putting over the up and comers there, then they completely dropped the ball with him... again! I know he was frustrated that TNA stuck him in the midcard and he wanted the opportunity for the better paydays of WWE, but I still just don't think he would have came back without some bit of assurance that he wasn't going to get a legit chance to main event in the company.
I guess we'll find out soon enough though...
