"According to sources, many of the wrestlers in WWE are under the impression that Rey Mysterio has given his notice. A friend of Mysterio is also under the same impression. The stance from the WWE office is that there have been financial issues, but that he has not given his notice. It could be a situation where Mysterio has told people he has given notice, or intends to, but at this point has not. If Mysterio were to walk away from WWE, he would have options in Mexico.

As previously reported, Mysterio is not alone in voicing concerns over pay. With that said, it would be a baffling decision if WWE refunded all the fans that attended last night's Raw, WWE gave away a $235,000 live gate, which will not set well with the talent. "

"during Raw, John Cena threw his hat into the audience. The fan who caught the hat threw it back at Cena was then ejected from the arena. It's interesting to note that during his promo with the Miz, Cena referenced the surviving the Hammerstein Ballroom. He was talking about the riotous anti-Cena crowd from the ECW One Night Stand Pay-Per-View (2006) where he dropped the WWE title to Rob Van Dam. Before that match, Cena threw his shirt into the audience and the audience member who caught it also threw the shirt back into the ring at Cena. That fan was not ejected. "

You couldn't script a better moment than the bit where Cena kept throwing his shirt into the crowd and the crowd kept throwing it back. That minute and a half drove home the point of just how hostile an environment it was going to be for Cena and just how much advantage RVD had. It just shows how much a hot crowd can do for a match.

I've always thought one of WWE's biggest problems is that they don't do TV from enough of the intimate venues, or even more TV from MSG or Canada. Those fans can make someone a star, or break them. They can make a regular match seem so much more important, and can in turn influence people at home to think, "hey... this guy must be pretty good if these fans are THAT into him."

JMO, but guys that aren't over with the typical WWE fan like, for example, a Tommy Dreamer, a Brian Kendrick, a Shelton, a Burchill, a Noble, could get a huge lift if they booked an ECW taping once every month or two in a small environment like the Manhattan Center or the old ECW Arena. Those guys are over HUGE with that type of crowd and if people at home could see that, they'd be more inclined to get into them as opposed to watching them come out to little to no reactions at the larger scale shows.

I don't know... maybe I'm wrong on that. Don't think I am though...

Sabu, you make a good point, but WWE would rather give up a guaranteed sellout at the Manhattan Center because of that night where Big Show wrestled Big Dave (I think) on ECW and it was live and the fans shouted Change The Channel. That must have drove Vince nuts since it was live and he couldn't control them. Not only that but ECW tapes with Smackdown now anyway. I saw a few ECW small venue house shows in 06 and they were fun. It wasn't like the ECW I saw here in Buffalo in the mid to late 90's but I knew it wouldn't be.

F4Wonline.com is reporting that last night’s edition of Monday Night RAW with no commercials scored a 4.5 cable rating.

If that number is correct, it is the biggest number RAW has done in several years.

We hope to have more RAW ratings data soon.

Well that's the trick. You can't have a match with two guys, in this case Batista vs. Show, where the fans are going to crap on both of them. Those fans wanted nothing to do with either one of those guys and took a big steaming shit on the match... yet they went nuts when Sabu made the run-in at the end.

The ideal situation there would have been to have made it Sabu vs. Show. Show was being booked as a monster heel, and he would have totally come off that way the way the crowd would have shit on him. At the same time, Sabu (who a large portion of casual "sports entertainment" fans didn't really know of) would have looked like a million bucks with that crowd swinging from his sack. The end result would have been Show looking like the monster heel they wanted him to look like, and Sabu's face value and place on the roster getting a huge rub.

Just an example of a card they could run at an ECW taping in one of those small environments:

Dreamer vs. Kozlov (Crowd is going to back the hell out of Dreamer and dump all over Kozlov) If Dreamer wins, he looks GREAT to the people watching at home. If Kozlov wins (we riot!) the crowd reaction will make him look like the monster heel WWE has wasted about a year on in the span of 5-10 minutes.

Burchill vs. Henry (The smarks love themselves some Ripper, hate themselves some Mark Henry) Burchill comes out, cuts a promo badmouthing "sports entertainment" (which the crowd will eat up) and then proceeds to kick the snot out of Henry and ultimately makes him tap. Crowd goes ballistic, and Burchill FINALLY gets some momentum, this time as a Benoit-type (minus the murderer thing) technician/no-BS ass kicker.

Bourne vs. Kidd (Crowd will mark for both, but will know their role and cheer Bourne and boo Kidd, but at the same time they'll be VERY vocal in their support for two good workers putting on a show) Could even throw Noble or Helms in there to make it a 3-way.

Christian vs. Ryder: Total squash. Crowd eats out of Christian's hand the entire match. Does nothing more than make Christian look good and over... which he already is.

Run that same card at a SmackDown taping and nobody will care, and nobody will gain anything from it. The crowd has EVERYTHING to do with a guy getting over. Taking advantage of the "smark" audience they would get at an intimate venue could do wonders in getting over talent on the "C" Show.

TNA Spoilers:

Report by Ashley Colton and PWInsider.com:

TNA Impact Taping Reports 6/23/09

*NYC Street Fight: Brother Ray vs Brutus Magnus
During the match, Rob Terry, Doug Williams, Kiyoshi & Bashir all ran down and attacked Ray. Devon came down with a chair, gave Terry a wicked chair shot & put Kiyoshi through a table with a 3D. Postmatch, Brother Ray offered pieces of the broken table to the fans of the iMPACT Zone. They brought a young boy into the ring to give him a piece.

New TNA Champion, Kurt Angle comes to the ring followed by Scott Steiner, Booker T & Sharmell and Kevin Nash & Jenna Morasca. Angle introduces himself as the new champion and bring out the newest member of the Main Event Mafia, Samoa Joe. He comes out and hugs each member of the Mafia. Angle said it was all part of the master plan. It was all because of Jenna and her investment her millions which lead to Joe joining. He apologizes to Sting for not telling him and what he didn't know didn't hurt him. Mick Foley's music immediately hits and he comes out to the ring with Rocco & Sally Boy who remain at the top of the stage and head back down the tunnel as Mick enters the ring. He says Angle doesn't owe him an explanation..but he owes Sting one and Joe owes AJ one, but what Angle does owe him is a rematch at Victory Road. Angle wants Foley to cry, says he is a disgrace and has no power. Angle says he can choose his opponent at Victory Road according to his contract. Foley says at Victory Road, this crybaby is gonna kick his ass. Angle says, if you want something from the MEM, you have to give something back..how about we go back to Foley's office and talk about things.

*Kevin Nash vs Abyss
During the match, Dr. Stevie ran down and used a taser on Abyss & allowed Nash to get the ring. Stevie remained on the ramp & played with the taser as Lauren ran down to check on Abyss.

New TNA Tag Team champions Beer Money come out. They say not only are they the greatest tag team in TNA but in the World. They offer Team 3D their rematch anytime, but Scott Steiner & Booker T come out. Booker asks them if they have ever heard of the Steiner Brothers or Harlem Heat and that Angle is running things, so he and Scotty are getting a tag title shot and they will have singles matches against him & Steiner. Team 3D come out and from the ramp, they said they're a little frustrated and declare they are getting a rematch at Victory Road. They're going to Mick and giving him an offer he can't refuse. Hilarious segment.

*Knockouts 10,000 Tacks match: Taylor Wilde defeated Daffney

*Scott Steiner defeated Robert Roode.

JB is backstage with Kurt Angle, we learn that Sting is on his way and he wants answers.

AJ Styles comes to the ring to discuss what happened and calls Samoa Joe out to the ring. AJ asks if it was the money and says they had a plan. He said he turned his back on him, the company & the fans and screwed himself when he gave Angle the TNA Title. He wants to know who got in his head, who made him think it was all worth it. Joe says he can ask himself at Victory Road. Matt Morgan comes down and helps Joe beat down on Styles until Daniels makes the save. Nash, Booker & Steiner come down and beat down on Daniels & Styles...but then Sting walks down and the mafia leave the ring. Sting looks down at Styles & Daniels who are helped out by Security before taking the mic. MEM slowly start making their way back into the ring and Angle restrains Joe from Sting. Sting says he expected this from Angle & Joe but not from the other three. He said it was because of punks like Joe they started the Mafia. He tells Kurt he is pathetic. Morgan says Kurt had everything to do with this. Sting confronts the remaining members. He tells Nash he expected more from him, Nash basically says he went to bat for Sting in every instance. Nash says Sting's plan isn't working, but Angle's is...this honor, dignity and respect is bullsh**, and its all about money. You can make friends and you can make money but you can't do both in this business. Sting says this isn't about Oz, Big D or Big Sexy but the heart of Kevin Nash..he offers him the bat to take him out to get his place in the mafia, Sting turns his back and pulls out second bat and attacks Nash before he can attack him, fends off the majority of the Mafia until Joe picked up the second bat and attacks Sting with it. The MEM then all beat down on Sting helplessly. Nash grabs Sting, holding him and shooing away the Mafia and delivers a Jackknife powerbomb on him, while the MEM stand tall over their now former leader.

*James Storm defeated Booker T w/Sharmell via DQ when Booker smashed Storm over the head with his own beer bottle.

*The Amazing Red defeated Cody Deaner with ODB

*Tara & Amazing Kong w/Raisha Saeed defeated The Beautiful People with Madison Rayne when Kong pinned Sky following an Implant Buster. Postmatch, Tara took the black box she had at ringside with her over to Sky's fallen body and placed a live tarantula on her stomach.

*TNA World Title Match contested under tag team rules - Kurt Angle & Samoa Joe defeated Jeff Jarrett & AJ Styles when Angle made Jarrett pass out from his leglock submission. Postmatch, Scott Steiner, Booker T and Kevin Nash come down to celebrate with Joe and Angle. Styles grabs his Legends Title and goes to chase off MEM. He eventually hits Samoa Joe but the remaining Mafia members come back into the ring and beat down Styles gangland style while Jarrett was still unconscious. The lights in the iMPACT Zone go out and Sting's music hits, and as they return on, Angle is choking Styles with the TNA World Title while Sting is behind him with his signature baseball bat. Sting takes out the members of the Mafia and grabs the TNA World Title. The lights go back out and not only has Sting disappeared but so has Angle's TNA World Title.

I was bored this morning, so I came up with a way for TNA to salvage the Joe/Angle BS from the PPV.

Personally I think TNA is a joke and I highly doubt my idea is even that original but here it is anyways.

With Taz originally rumored to be the adviser to Joe, something tells me this may not have been the original plan to have Joe in MEM. However, they still might be able to go back to that.

They could have Joe still doing the heel thing with the MEM and every once in awhile when one of them are wrestling, a bunch of weird orange lights flicker on and off (similar to what was happening just before Taz made his debut in the WWE). They could do this for a few weeks until the MEM gets pissed and goes around messing with the production crew trying to find out what is going on (similar to what the NWO used to do).

Later in the show Angle and Joe could be in a tag match against...well it doesn't really matter since win or lose Joe and Angle will just kick the shit out of them after the match anyways. The could then be shown celebrating when the lights go out completely, followed by a bunch of orange fireworks.

When the lights come back on we see Taz standing at the top of the entrance ramp. He points to the ring and Joe immediately slaps Angle in the rear naked choke. Angle gets choked out and it is revealed that this was a setup all along with Taz being the leader of the Nation of Violence. They could explain that Joe was just infiltrating the MEM (similar to what Sting did when he joined the NWO for about 2 weeks in early 97).

They could do various matches for the next few months leading to Bound For Glory where they could have some type of Winner Takes All Match with the NOV vs. the MEM.

I have no idea who they could actually put in the NOV, maybe Matt Morgan as they can do a story where he is sick of trying to prove himself to the MEM and now he wants to destroy them.

I know my idea isn't that great, but I'm sure Russo will come up with something great...you know...because that's what he does.

With TNA you can never tell though. I listened to an interview with Kurt last week and he said the goal is to make Joe and AJ huge stars. I'm not sure how having Joe be the MEM's lacky is going to make him a star, but hey Russo and Jarrett are the creative geniuses right?

WWE has made changes to their two October PPV events.

The No Mercy event will now be known "Hell in A Cell" and will take place on October 4th. Last week, WWE posted a fan survey regarding cage-themed shows this change isn't a big surprise. It's interesting because a Triple H vs. Randy Orton HIAC match was originally planned for Summerslam.

After several years of being among the least-purchased WWE PPVs of the year, it appears that Cyber Sunday is finally being put to rest. "WWE Annihilation" will be the new name and will take place on October 25th.

Cyber Sunday was a GREAT idea. Depending on who you believe, most of it was on the up and up. Jericho swears that he had no idea he was wrestling Shelton back in 2004 and didn't know what the result was supposed to be until after the match started. It was a pretty cool concept, but the fans didn't want to suspend disbelief that something about their "fake" sport was actually going to be real. No wonder why we get a bad name...

That was not a good PPV. Shitty ending to the Punk/Hardy match. Punk is pretty much a heel now. Off the top of my head winners were:
Dreamer
Rey
Edge/Y2J are new tag champs
Michelle McCool is the new Womens champ
Ziggler beat Khali after Kane interfered.
Hardy beat Punk by DQ after Punk was "blinded" and accidentally kicked the Ref. Hardy beat up Punk after the match.
Cena made Miz tap.
Orton beat HHH in the third fall (stretcher match) after HHH was beat up by Legacy. They teased heat between Orton and Dibiase earlier in the night with Cody playing peacemaker.

dude what show are you watching??
TNA features a average of 14 mins wrestling on a two hr show while ECW features something like 20 on a HR show...granted , when TNA actually puts on a match they tend to be really good (Given time) but the skits and angels make that show unwatchable. Just complete shit. Id rather watch ECW or Raw anyday then TNA, they need to get some wrestling on the show to make me care, because when they do they are a good show...

I liked the PPV for the most part. The Rey/Jericho match was awesome, especially since the crowd was fully on Jericho's side. Hearing the crowd chant "We want Christian" when Edge and Jericho teamed was cool too. The only thing I hated, aside from the return of Kane, was the Cena/Miz match, which was basically a squash. I don't understand the point or logic in doing that when they could have easily kept pushing Miz until he was a top heel. Instead he'll be back to beng a joke. Stupid booking, but that's typical.

I don't get what the point was to have Cena squash Miz like that. Miz has been awesome for this whole build up, but somehow made it look that he had zero shot against Cena which to me is what a great cocky underdog heel should do. The payoff could have been that someone could have came out and helped Miz actually get the win. Miz gets an ENORMOUS rub, and whoever came out would also gotten one as well and could give them a month long program to keep Cena busy until the psuh to SummerSlam. Would have been a good spot to bring back Kane, or re-debut Masters, or an FCW call up.

That was a pretty damn awesome tag match! Edge & Jericho made the Colons look like a million bucks and in turn the crowd were eating out of Carlito and Primo's hands. THAT is how you get workers over. Colons lose and it's the best they've looked and most they've been over with a crowd since they got paired up.

No worries... Hoyt and Chris Masters are on their way to save the day!

Really wish they would have kept Shelton on SmackDown and moved Christian, Kendrick, and Bourne over there. Could have made for an awesome roster.

Kind of a bummer moving Shelton Benjamin over to ECW. I was just getting to enjoy his feud with R-Truth.
Also, from what I saw on Raw last night, are they going to push Swagger into Legacy, and Mark Henry playing to the crowd... Mark as a face??

I didn't even watch the end of Raw but I knew that Bourne was coming over. I'm also interested to see what the do with the Hart Dynasty on Smackdown, which is still the best show going right now.

So HHH and Cena....again! With the winner getting to face Orton....again!

There are countless stories from Meltzer, Heyman and many others that the WWE creative team is only worried about entertaining Vince. But even still, how is Vince himself not bored with this shit??
