Lesnar showed some fighting smarts with the way he controlled the first round and didn't give Mir a chance to put a hold on him. I didn't like him flipping off the crowd after the fight, but I guess you can't take the WWF out of him.

Now that 100's in the books, here's a question. Dana's already building Lesnar up as a world beater (interesting considering he's had what, 4 fights?). Dana's talking about hooking Fedor after his next bout for Dream, and signing him to UFC. Then he wants to match up Brock and Fedor. Does Lesnar stand a serious chance against the Russian? Can Fedor overcome Brock's freakish size, strength and athleticism? Can Dana actually sign Fedor this time?

I have to laugh at the hardcore UFC fans, especially the idiots on Sherdog, that are complaining on how Brock is bad for the sport, yet are jizzing in their shorts over what Hendo did to Bisping.

Hendo could have fucking killed Bisping with that shot he hit him with when Bisping was already out. He knew he was out when he did it too which he clearly said after the fight. You want to talk about "bad for the sport" let's think for a second what would happen if Hendo DID kill him with that shot.

All Brock did was flip some people off and cut a promo that in about 3 minutes got more people talking about UFC than have ever talked about it before. The next card he is on is going to make that company more money in one night than they probably made in their first 5 years.

Well said, and I couldn't agree more. That being said, Dana HAD to take the stance he did, or he and the UFC would have been pigeonholed back to "human cock-fighting" or "full contact WWE". No matter how good Brock's antics are for ratings, to be considered a "serious" sport, Dana and the Zuffa crew have got to take the high road... Even if they end up giving Lesnar a bonus under the table for the obvious ratings push this will bring.

From the replays I saw during the broadcast, it looked to me like it was the ear. I could be wrong.

There's no debate that he knew he was out, the guy admitted it. I don't like Bisping either, but doing some bush-league shit like Hendo did, legend or not, is out of line and could have had serious ramifications not just for the other guy but for the sport as well.

Henderson did the same thing when he KOd Wand. You fight until the ref stops you. People are comparing this to Wand/Page III and Babalu/Heath and it's ridiculous, he wasn't punching him with Yamasakis arms wrapped around him. I'm even seeing stuff where people say Bisping should file charges against Hendo. It was one shot, LOL at the people who say it could have killed him, it was nowhere near as hard as the 1st shot that KOd him.

The fact is Dan Henderson did nothing horrible. It would have been classy/badass if he walked away with Bisping down, but he sure as hell didnt have to. In fact Hendo had an early stoppage against Ryo Chonan and the Japanese media bitched about it at the time. Now why would he risk having an early stoppage in a fight where he is trying to get a rematch title fight with Anderson Silva, it would make no sense being timid.

Kos and Karo both had fights where they looked completly out upon hitting the matt, but both got up and bitched about the stoppage.

Him throwing the punch isnt "worse for the sport" then Brock Lesnar's WWF outburst, because no mainstream sports media will mention Hendo's punch outside of their MMA section on their websites.

Rampage/Wandy III was dirty and uncalled for, It also took place during the biggest event of 08, but he was let off the hook because of "bad blood"

Rashad/Salmon was the in the same ballpark as hendo's. However Rashad took more time to throw the punch after the KO, and it was on free TV, but he was let off the hook because "You have to make sure you finish the fight"

BJ Penn knocking out Sean sherk with a flying knee then tagging him with three punches after. Zero backlash. Zero

Same goes with Machida's after KO punch; that came at the round ending buzzer, against silva. Zero backlash. Zero

To sum it all up all the bitching in this thread is coming from pro wrestling fans, its gotta have something to do with not following the sport much, ironic being that you seem so concerned about "whats bad for the sport"

BTW Ricky Hatton took more Damage and would have had a larger chance of dying from blunt force truama or from swelling of the brain in his fight with manny, but everyone jizzed their pants over that fight

Dude, for Christ's sake, calm the fuck down. You seem to be throwing a lot of accusations around about wrestling fans, which has fuck-all to do with what I've been saing. I've been a fan of UFC/MMA for a long time. I was watching the shit when it really was human cockfighting, when you had tools like Kimo and Tank Abbot stinking up the joint. It's come a long way since those days and I'm proud to I was along for the ride. So you can take your snobbishness and stick it up your ass, because odds are I've been following it longer than you. That said, I never said that the Hendo punch was the worst thing ever done. You're right, all the examples you name were far more egregious. That doesn't mean I have to like what he did the other night. Should he be suspended or God forbid arrested? No. But I don't think a fine would be out of order either. It's cheap shots like that give the sport a bad name in the mainstream press. Granted, there is a part of me that likes the fact that MMA is virtually ignored by ESPN, yet rakes in the dough anway, but I realize that for the sport to grow and expand it needs to become more and more legitimized in their eyes.

Brock's been training BJJ for a few years now.

Also, I don't understand the people who think he's untrained. Wrestling has proven to be the best base training in the UFC for the last 10 years. Wrestling, BJJ, and Muay Thai seem to be the ones to know.

The thing with wrestling is it's all about using your weight and body control. "Shrimping' is just the technique of moving your hips to get better position. That's not going to work on someone who was a world class amateur wrestler, who's 40-50lbs heavier, and is faster and stronger.

I can tell you from first hand experience, that wrestlers and particularly submission wrestlers that come into BJJ, already start well ahead of someone coming in fresh without any grappling. I remember guys coming in from wrestling who'd never done any martial art, and would be pinning down and subbing other beginners who has been training BJJ 3 times a week for 3-4 month solidly, on their first day.

I can't really get pumped for 104 right now. I just think the main event is a joke, but I guess they really have no other people to give a title shot too. I am excited about Carwin/Valasquez though... a lot. Okami/Sonnen could be good, but it could also be really fucking boring. 103 is looking much better IMO.
