Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...

I got one of these,
and am turning it into a half stack.

I just peeled the vinyl down, cut the bottom off, took out a few inches, glued the bottom back on and cut and re-glued the vinyl.
Then I made a new box for the speaker. I just need to finish covering it all.
Best $20 amp I ever had.

I also picked up another UREI 530 eq. These are great on guitar. A lot of people have used them.
They were a big part of Metallica's MOP guitar and bass tones.

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...
I scored an American Strat w/hardshell case, a Fender HotRod Deluxe Amp and 6 BOSS Pedals (Tuner, Blues Driver, Tremelo, Super Chorus, Digital Delay and Noise Suppressor)...Also came with a nice carrying case for the pedal board...All for 500 USD!!! The pickguard on the Strat was seemilngly burned and colored with a crayon but man does it sound sweet...Anyway, I took her to the shop today to get a new pickguard and tune up...I'll post pics soon...

I just put one of those EVH Frankenstein Humbuckers in a Jackson V, I saw some good reviews on it and was curious. It's okay I guess, but doesn't touch my HM Strat's humbucker. It needs a little compression to tighten it up for my tastes.
I also recently put a set of Texas Specials in an old Strat. That bridge pickup is The Truth, people 12 blocks away will hear the slightest mistake.

The dude was clearly a bit "touched." He was looking over my head the entire time he spoke to me...It was awkward and weird but all the gear is in terrific order...I couldn't get out of there fast enough!!!ElToro wrote:What was the crackhead's name?

I have a Nashville tele I loaded with Fender Noiseless pickups. I like it, but they tend to run a bit thin...

Probably not Fender noiseless, then...they're more squeaky-clean.Captain Morgan wrote:I'm lookin' for clarity and warmth in the neck, a nice gutsy twang in the bridge that can rock.Sleek wrote:What sorta sounds are you looking for?Captain Morgan wrote:Noiseless Tele pickups - what can yall suggest?

Toro knows that I'm no guitar player, but I just got an ESP LTD MW600. I bought it as a collectable and it is supposed to be the last on the the US.

I put some lighter strings on it, and I can get around OK.

Are you talking about the HM Strat original humbucker? I agree, those DiMarzio Super 3's are fantastic!whammybar wrote:I just put one of those EVH Frankenstein Humbuckers in a Jackson V, I saw some good reviews on it and was curious. Your probably right. I'm not a big single coil guy. I'd probably do Gilmour EMGs if noise was the issue.

Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...
Yeah, that's the one. It makes my SL-X Marshalls sound like no other guitar I've ever heard plugged into them. I was lucky to get one, someone bought it brand new for my birthday years ago and didn't have a clue what it was.EddiesCancerTongue wrote:Are you talking about the HM Strat original humbucker? Yeah...I got it as swag for an art job I did, and have been trying to get along with it for a couple years...then the other day, I was playing through one of my regular crybabys at my apartment, and I was like:"Fuck. That's the sound I want. Duh!"Captain Morgan wrote:LOL! That's the Transformer of wah pedals!Sleek wrote:I'm putting my fancy-assed wah pedal up on ebay today...it's the Crybaby 535Q.
