Re: El Toro's Official Guitarded Thread...
I have the Gilmour setup in my strat.
It is a decent rig, but the battery is a pain in the ass, it started as a plus with gold. I like the lace sensors, but not the gold.
This place does "deals" of them, just without the name 'fender" on the cover.

their building is for sale too, I'm waiting for the parking lot sale.

Two new things:
1. Dimarzio Area T set in my Tele - fuckin' SMOKES!
2. Visual Sound Comp 66 pedal - compression without all the hiss (until it's maxed out).

About to obtain a Gibson Flying V (Faded) in a trade for my Fender Deluxe Player's Strat and a Fender M-80 halfstack (that I have to get rid of anyway) ... Fair trade?

Yeah you're right - I could do better on Ebay or even Craigslist if I waited - but it's close to being a wash and I just love the three pickup Flying V...It's a sexy guitar...Plus, I gotta unload that M-80/Crate halfstack...It's just in the way and I'm done with solid state amps....

Scored a new Carl Martin Classic Chorus for cheap.
Having terrible GAS pains for a G&L Bluesboy, Fender American Strat, or PRS McCarty. Even though Ed Roman dislikes 'em - they're no match for his Quicksilver guitar.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and a Rickenbacker 330 that Musician's Friend had a special on a week ago

PRS Mira - anyone try one?
From the looks and sound of it, it's spot on for what I'm lookin' for: a solid slab of mahogany with growly, vintage humbuckers (wired with coil splitting).

I came across this pic from 1985 the other day,

Paul McCartney's flametop Les Paul.
Somewhere I have a bunch more shots of it.

At Gruhn's in Nashville. It belonged to Rick Nielson and sat there
forever until it was offered to Paul.

There wre only about 3 left handed '59 LPs... I have seen one that is totally hammered (sad) and I saw another in 1989 or so that Paul looked at. I have no idea what happened.

Rick bought it back when he was buying everything he could find. However, what do you do with it ifElToro wrote:There wre only about 3 left handed '59 LPs... I have seen one that is totally hammered (sad) and I saw another in 1989 or so that Paul looked at. I have no idea what happened.
you're not a lefty, right? It sat at Gruhn's for quite a while with zero interest.
I got asked to check into selling it so on my next Nashville trip I went down to shot film of it.
I had never met Paul or done any kind of work for him but the second he pulled it out and laid it
on the counter it hit me - Paul McCartney would buy this. Tom Peterson's tech and I knew
an expatriate in Paris who helped get to Paul and tell him about it. Somewhere there's an interview
where he plays that Paul and talks about how it's almost too nice for a guy like him. It always makes me smile.

Just bought a YJM308 preamp/boost pedal, I am living large I now have a 1 pedal board. I learned from the Nuge! I never like pedals on stage but I needed something to make solos pop in the mix. I also just ordered a slew of parts to put my Rat-Strat back together and a Tone Pro's Nashville for my LP. No new guitars but I did play one of the new LTD Eclipse in a road worn black that was really good for the price ($399), I may grab one as a back up to my ESP.
