Its funny but most girls I know think the opposite. Each to their own.drops_of_jupiter wrote:You'd think so, right? And you'd think you'd be able to get the general gist of it just from looking at the poster. The night before it came out we had a staff screening of it (I work in a movie theatre) and, about 15mins into it, this guy who's slightly above me goes to walk out of it, saying it's nothing like what he expected. Why? He thought, because of the name of it, it was going to be some type of thriller....with everything taking part on a cliff/cliff face...the 'hangover' bit. What the fuck? Full retard.killeverything wrote:The Hangover 8/10
I just watched this. I thought it was pretty funny in a lot of places. The previews tell you everything you need to know about the movie.
My little bro' and his friends wanted to watch 'New Moon' so I had to tag along as well (this was at another staff screening, the night before it came out). I give it 6/10. I haven't watched the first film or read the books, but I really don't see what all the fuss was about. The main character, Kristen, falls for wolfboy (who's very presence in the film is the reason why I gave it 6/10 rather than 5/10) while still 'in love' with the vampire dude. Basically, the whole love traingle isn't convincing at all - she's all loved up with the vampire, he leaves her then - in a matter of months - she's gone off with wolfie. Towards the end, even when vampire guy returns, there's a showdown between the wolf and the vampire..she stops it and tells the wolfboy that she loves him, but it's always been Mr. Bloodsucker....she says all that while the vampire's right there! How rude!
The acting's just terrible. Though, Taylor Lautner (wolfboy) is nice to look at - only with long hair though. Apparantly, he's 17. That's legal over here.

Fight Club 9.5/10 - Probably my favorite movie of all time, definitely in my top 3. The only thing that keeps it from being perfect is the Pixies song that plays when the buildings fall. That song just doesn't click with me. Otherwise, this film is just awesome. The MPAA Rating is R for "disturbing and graphic depiction of violent anti-social behavior"

Watched the new Star Trek again. 10/10. I enjoyed it even more the second time. And of course, I was very high.

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Precious-3/10- mo nique was amazing, the only reason to even watch. I liked the movie better the first time i saw it when it was called the color purple. people are raving about the 350 pound newcomer for some reason her performence is exactly what you'd expect from a 350 pound bitch who's never acted, she eats an entire bucket of chicken all by herself...what a stretch!! there are some unintentional funny moments such as really bad hair, a down syndrome child named mongo, the fat bitch getting KTFO without warning etc, etc. Gotta feeling this is gonna be this years "slumdog millionaire"
taken-10/10 liam neeson was a bad mother fucker in this.
tormented- 9/10 i thought it'd suck but it's better than any american slasher film i've seen over the last couple years.

A Serious Man I need to watch it again to really decide, but it was decent. I'll give it an 8.3/10 for now.

New in Town - 3/10.
Boring and so predictable that I was able to tell my husband exactly how it would end within the first 3 minutes of watching.
The support cast as native Minnesotans was kinda cute, though.

Come and See = Perfect!
A Russian film about a Russian town being burned to the ground by Germans, while they rape a Russian girl, and pretty much pillage the town. All of these events are witnessed by a boy, deaf from a bomb explosion. Pretty powerful, probably my favorite WWII film.

Four Christmases-
Vince Vaughn and Reese
0/10
Horrible.
I could only get through the first 45 minutes before I fell asleep out of boredom and non-laughter.
Where was the comedy??
When were the jokes going to begin??

Bottle Shock - 6.9/10. I wanted it to be good or at least not boring, but it was a little too plodding for me.

Bro - did the fact that you watched it last night contributed to the fact that it was a 10? Do you think it's still a 10 when watched in, say, April or June? Please get back to me on this, bro - thanks in advance.Itwalksamongus wrote:Christmas Vacation - last night! 10/10

Drag Me To Hell - a solid 87 for me.
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Evilenko - I don't even know how to rate this one.
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Beavers - 7/10. It's a short IMAX movie about the animals. I swear it. It lost something by not being on the huge IMAX screen, but the bits about how they change the landscape once they start building a damn were pretty interesting, and there were lots of shots of them scratching their armpits.
