Maybe this "special, one of a kind" spirit girlfriend presence is like Dante's Beatrice or Petrarch's Laura. Both men had life-long obsessions with women they had little personal contact with.

To throw in my two cents about the spirit topic, I'm from southern Louisiana, and a lot of older Cajun people and black people here believe in
cauchemar, a nightmare spirit that "rides" a person like an incubus or succubus. Pat Rickels, the woman mentioned on the site I linked to, told me that one year, there were reports of a dormitory on the ULL campus being haunted by a cauchemar, and one of the university's vice presidents actually went on television to say that NO building on campus was ever haunted by a cauchemar.

I have an open mind about whether voodoo or black magic works (I've never seen or experienced it, so I can't discount the possibility), but I don't believe what Trent's going through has anything to do with voodoo. Garden variety mental illness is much more plausible.

However, I would like to throw something out for consideration: For anyone who's seen Paranormal Activity, I used to occasionally experience the being-pulled-out-of-bed thing that the woman in the movie did. It only happened a few times between the ages of about 12 and 15 or 16, but I'd feel something grab me by the ankles while I was lying on my back, and pull me off the bed. I'd wind up at the foot of the bed. It's hard to see how I could've scooted down there.

If Trent experiences sleep paralysis, it's easy to see how that, coupled with whatever mental disorder he has, could've transformed into some kind of "presence." A lot of people who have sleep paralysis talk about sensing a "presence" in the room. I've felt it, too, and it's usually not a good "presence." I think we need to start a "ghost stories" thread.

TR is just TR ...as talented as I think he is, I highly doubt anyone will be mentioning him hundreds of years from now LOL. I read a rumor very much like that when I first started researching him in April/May of last year - that he had dreamed about the woman that was meant for him, and he'd told groupies/hangers on that he was keeping himself celibate for her - It was utterly ridiculous, especially the celibate part *gigglesnort*, and I instantly dismissed it as something one of his crazy goth fans would fabricate to explain why their goth "god" isn't having sex with them OR something he/his camp would make up to fuck with the aforementioned fans...

Seriously, maybe he just needs a couple of months in an exclusive "medical resort", aka sanitarium, to get his head right...I don't know why he would see trying to get better after four years of extensive touring and huge amounts of stress as being something to be ashamed of.

I wasn't even referring to MS and his personal vendetta with it or the nasty cunts that post(ed) here...I've already mentioned that I can understand why he would not like this place, if he feels it had something to do with his breakup with someone he cared for...

I just think y'all might be taking the Nyke thing a bit too far. I'm sure she was great (or at least he thought so anyways, and that's what's important, right?) but it's over. And if not, it's not healthy, and it should be.

I don't refute everything people say on here. I'd be talking all day, as something stupid is usually said daily. The fact is, it's all a theory anybody spits out nine times out of ten, but you have to go proving and disproving like it's a science project.
