She did a good job in Invention Of Lying, which I also watched recently. I'll give that one a 6. It really fell apart when the whole religion satire bit started. Ricky's television work is pretty much untouchable, but he hasn't really hit me with his film work yet.shadow wrote:Ghosts of Girlfriends Past - 7/10. The Hangover - 6/10 - I'd give it 5 but I did laugh pretty hard a couple times. But it's a shitty movie full of shitty people.
The Road - 7/10 - Pointless story. Not just bleak, but devoid of hope completely. The planet was dead. Should have offed himself and his wife before they ever had what turned out to be an annoying little shit of a kid rather than suffer on just because of some ridiculous image of human existence as valuable. But maybe that's just cuz I hate the word "papa". Really lots.
District 9 - 7/10 - Things go boom. People go pop. The violence was fun, at least.
Up - 7/10 - I sort of hated everything in the movie except the old dude and his house. Too many jackasses fucking up his shit. Would have been more satisfying if it turned into Falling Down.
Monsters Inc. - 7/10 - Ugh, Billy Crystal. This movie reminded me why I'm glad Billy Crystal is old. No, I hadn't seen it until today.

Martyrs is one of my favorite movies ever. It is truly an amazing film. I really can't wait for a Blu-ray release because it's just a spectacularly done movie. Watching that was just 2 hours of me sitting there wide-eyed and the end just left me completely fucking stunned. I mean, it's not a twist ending or anything, it was just intense.John Simon Ritchie wrote:Have you seen MARTYRS yet? Holy shit what a headfuck of a movie. Brutal. If I had to rate the new wave of French horror films, it would be:
High Tension: 4/10
Frontier(s): 6/10
Malefique: 7/10
Inside: 8/10
Martyrs: 10/10
I haven't seen Ils yet but I heard it's very good.

No. There's some movie my husband had put on the queue but didn't watch before he left town sitting on my shelf waiting for me to send it back before I can get Willow.pieceofme wrote:Have you seen 'Willow' yet?Bridget wrote:Avatar - 7.8/10. Pathology - 8/10.
Never heard of this one before, saw it on Sho last night. Looks like a mid-range budget movie that must've gone straight to dvd. Pretty creepy with a cool, horror themed premise.

Funny People- 7/10
Too long, and the non standup related parts were not that funny
The Hangover-9/10
Solid comedy, glad zack galfinackis(thought I would try to butcher spelling his name without google) is famous now
Inglourious Bastards-9.5/10
His best film since Pulp Fiction.
Come and see-9.9/10
The bog scene is the most physically uncomfortable I have been watching a movie. Brillant and Brutal. Would have gave it a ten out of ten but the random bitch eating lobster in hellish barn scene pissed me off so much. Such a dumb part in a brillant movie. That kid was also brillant in that movie

I agree! It was really well made. I'm a passive Tarantino fan at best, so I was really surprised by how much I liked this one.KillDevilHill wrote: Inglourious Bastards-9.5/10

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Yeah, this will probably be the only time I'm really pulling for Tarantino to win some awards (unless he pulls another like this out of his hat). At least Christoph Waltz won the Golden Globe. He was one of the best parts of an already great film.bane wrote:Thirded. I saw it over the weekend and loved it.Bridget wrote:I agree! It was really well made. Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Definitely. It's got top-notch acting (Christoph Waltz), the dialog you'd expect from a Tarantino film, and the suspense scenes were very well constructed.KillDevilHill wrote:

'Bra Boys' - Documentary about surfers from Marourbra (Hence 'Bra Boys'). Great film, awesome surfing scenes, plenty of violence, highly recommended.
9/10
'This is England' - Gritty portrayal of skin head culture with some great acting performances. The dude who plays Woody steals every scene he is in.
8/10
Gonna watch Indiana JOnes and the temple of doom tonight. I have never seen an INdiana Jones movie before but my little fella has gone crazy for Indiana Jones Lego so I thought I better watch it with him.
