A bit off topic, but I just heard an interview with R Jim Clyburne that was pretty interesting. He was talking about tackling healthcare incrementally. Pass a bill outlawing pre existing conditions. Pass another one for anti trust exemptions etc. It's an interesting way of going about it. The GOP would have a tough time justifying a vote against those kind of bills and it would start the ball rolling towards getting something done. Thoughts?

That's what I've been saying all along. Eliminate BY LAW all the practices that make insurance companies scummy, and the problem is greatly reduced.

But in an instant gratification culture and mindset, it would be tough to do unless its paraded out in a grand performance with all the bells and whistles.

Dammit, come up with a better bill in the Senate and make the fucking Republicans fillibuster it! Fuck Joe Lieberman, fuck Ben Nelson, fuck Mary Landrieau or whatever the fuck her name is. Get the 51 Democratic Senators you need to pass a relatively progressive bill that the public would support and then call the Republicans on their bluff. I'm telling you they would not hold out. You would see the popularity ratings of individual Republicans plummet and they would not be able to sustain it.

Sack up Reid.
