Don't understand Philly and why they (the city and the team apparently) would want to dump Donovan. The only rationale to me, is that he is aging, and this may the last year he demands market power. In Cleveland there are rumblings of sending off their first round pick!
And yes, I think Kolb has a bright future, and with Vick as a back-up, the Eagles would be fine, but to me, that seems unfair to Donovan. However, I won't be crying over any pro football players. The league minimum is more money than I'll ever carry in my bank account.

First off, Vick isn't sticking around. They would have signed him already. I think that with the talent of the young receivers, Kevin Kolb will be great. He's more of a pocket passer and can get the ball to the WR, something that eludes McNabb at times. Andy Reid can talk all he wants about Donovan staying in Philly, but with those huge backloaded contract years coming up, it would make sense to get some value for him (IE some offensive linemen and some secondary help, as well as draft picks). Reid is a great talent evaluator and I have no doubt that a few teams would make a great offer. For the record, I think Brian Westbrook is done also.

Well obviously it was a bad play from every aspect, but I don't see how you can pin the whole loss on Favre when he had played great up to that point, especially for someone who was hit over 15 times, often illegally. What's your point? Favre has made some amazing plays doing exactly what you just described. I don't recall anyone complaining about his mechanics when he made those throws. Obviously it's not proper form for a QB, but Favre has always gone against the grain and been successful doing things that you supposedly aren't supposed to do. The Vikings knew that and were willing to take the bad with the good.
