I get it. You use polls to prove a point, I just don't trust them. I do agree with you that his approval has dropped since he backed off of some of his promises.

Someone said they found a site that showed he had made about 97 promises and only broken 14 or some shit, which is niiiiiiiice, but the promises that most people care about are among those few!

THE WAR...I know it's touchy but he didn't even apoligize and say "HEY! I know I promised to start bringing our troops home RIGHT AWAY, buuuut that was just campaign bullshit. I know I promised to end illegal wiretapping, but that was just campaign bullshit.

At least their hand is being forced finally for Don't Ask Don't Tell, which just makes us look stupid and ancient.

I'm sure the economy will get better, since it only exists as easily re-programmable computer numbers now, it'll do whatever they want it to do. Am I suggesting that they wanted the economy to crash a year and half ago? Maybe I am.

That one's touchy. Notice the quiet way they're pushing the patriot act extention through? I haven't heard a peep from anybody on that one.

There's a lot of shit they'll do quietly, which brings up the laughable promise of "transparency".

Poll no present to Palin on her birthday

As Sarah Palin marks her birthday, a new national poll indicates that 7 out of 10 Americans feel that she is not qualified to be president.

According to an ABC News/Washington Post survey, 71 percent of the public say the former Alaska governor is not qualified to serve in the White House, with 26 percent saying the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee is qualified to be president. The 26 percent who say Palin is qualified is down 12 points from an ABC News/Washington Post poll from November.

Twenty-eight percent of people questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey from November indicated that Palin was qualified, with 7 in 10 feeling she was not qualified to be president.

The ABC News/Washington Post poll, released Thursday morning as Palin marks her 46th birthday, also indicates that even a majority of Republicans now view Palin as not qualified to serve as commander-in-chief. According to the survey, 45 percent of conservatives see her as qualified, down 21 points from last November.

The survey also indicates that 37 percent of Americans have a favorable view of her, with 55 percent holding an unfavorable view. According to a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey from last month, 43 percent of the public had a favorable opinion and 46 percent had an unfavorable view of Palin.

American youth awakening to Obama hangover
By Christopher Malagisi 01/11/10 at 1:21 pm

American youth are beginning to wake up from a two year-long, political Kool-Aid drinking binge and are discovering Obama doesn’t look all that pretty in the morning. After a year of broken promises and an all-out assault on American youth, in regards to Obama’s legislative policies, youth are falling out of love with their once endearing icon.

While most polls show Obama losing popularity among all age demographics it’s interesting to note he is falling faster among 18-29 year-olds. According to Gallup, Obama’s standing with youth dropped 11 points this past summer. This is striking when compared to the 2-to-1 margin whiplash Republicans received when Obama won the presidency only one year ago.
If he'd stop the pandering to the right, he might not be in such a predicament.

Great, the "executive experience" argument again. Looks like all that executive experience has really helped her, hasn't it?

That didn't really answer my question, but OK. It was more in the nature of a rhetorical.

Most of the conservatives I know dont like her. I liked her at first but now I guess she has proven a lot of liberals right about her stupidity. If she really cared about her political and was smart enough she would disappear for a few years and let the dust settle but she wont do that. She's like "here I am please watch every move and sound I make and rub it into the ground in the Americans face in the news stations and newsprints".

The woman only preaches to the choir, i.e Fox News, because they don't challenge her on anything she says or does. Let her sit down for a chat on Meet the Press or with Chris Matthews.

Uh, they're not afraid of her. She's afraid of them. For the reasons I just mentioned. Katie Couric ripped her to shreds by asking simple questions that every VP candidate should have knowledge of. She failed miserably.

What makes you think the left is afraid of her? They're all hoping that she wins the nomination. Doesn't sound much like fear to me.

Palin has charisma in common with Obama, but that's about it. Say what you will about the guy, but his IQ is light years ahead of hers. He'd destroy her in a debate. The left talks about her because she's gone out of her way to make herself a celebrity. For someone like her, it's not a bad strategy. If the cult of personality gets her elected, so be it, but nobody in their right mind "fears" her, unless you're a republican fearing that she'll Bob Dole any chance they have in 2012.

Maybe in the same way we hated the idiot Bush representing the country, we're afraid of another Republican big-mouth with shit-for-brains that will make this whole country look like asshole, AGAIN.

That might not be a fear like "Palin is under my bed, mommy!" but a legitimate concern.
