They should have him fight Machida, and you could have another drink when Rogan said 'elusive'tin00can wrote:Random question: is Keith Jardine done? He hung in there fairly well, but the end result was the same. Loved the guy, but I'm beginning to think he doesn't have much left.
However, you can have a fun drinking game based on him. Whenever he fights, down a shot whenever Rogan or that other guys says "unorthodox." You'll be plowed by the end of the first round.

And when Joe mentions his underrated ground game. Jardine needs to be done, when he gets KO'd, he gets KTFO bad. He can't keep taking punishment like that.

Anderson Silva. I think after he wins against Hardy, he'll take a tune up fight at 185 and then fight Anderson at the beginning of 2011. That's a fight that has to happen.UltimateSin wrote:

I want to see Rush fight BJ again before he faces Anderson.
BJ has stepped up again, and I want to see them both fight with that undefeated mentality, no disrespect to GSP but he will lose against Silva, and his mind frame will not be there.

I for one hope they do not do another BJ/Pierre fight. 3 times is enough. A Silva/Pierre fight would be awesome, if Pierre fights as good at 185 then he does now I'd give the win to Pierre. It'd be a great fight.

This was the first time I've seen Carwin fight, and wow - I'm on the bandwagon. I don't think he'll beat Lesnar but you never know. At least now we can stop hearing Mir talking about a rematch with Lesnar.

I went and watched UFC 111 at a movie theater. Awesome experience! Pretty good sized crowd and HD video on a giant screen. I am a big Dan Hardy fan and despite GSP owning him, I like him even more now after not tapping...

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
I worked last night so I missed the card, but I do however work in a movie theater so I caught the Mir/Carwin fight on my break. Carwin is a beast, but brock is a better athlete and better wreslter so we will see how that goes.
I watched the Diaz fight and GSP/hardy fight this morning. GSP just dominated, but it would have looked a lot better for him if he would have got the tap. Props to Hardy though, he survived it all and not many thought he would go the distance. GSP most likely either has the winner of Paul daley/Kos or the winner of that fight facing John Fitch. So thats 2/3 fighters he has stripped before. I hope The UFC can sign Sheilds or get Nick Diaz over from strikeforce.
Regardless it looks like Silva/GSP becomes more of a reality each time they fight. If shogun beats machida though Silva will move up right away to fight for a title

That dude's nose in the last fight was BUSTED. Probably won't watch too much of this season as I don't care for Chuck or Tito, and I'm still kind of burnt after the last lackluster season. Also, it really, really, really sucked to see Gomi get outclassed like that, they should have given him a tune up fight instead of throwing him to the #2 LW in the UFC.

Seriously. I looked at that matchup and immediately thought it was the twins from Good Charlotte.

But, the one dude was a beast. That nose was destroyed.

The way the nose was caved in freaked me the hell out.
I was dissapointed with the Gomi fight>
The fighters in this season look a bit more interesting than the past ones, hopefully it will be worth watching

Roy nelson is a funny guy, Hope he gets Cain or dos santos next.
On the Gomi fight, fucking Gomi is done and has been done for years. Diaz broke him or some shit. He has the disadvantage of being about four years behind technically in terms of how MMA has moved forward, but not only that, he didnt look good against B and C level fighters in Japan.
Good for Kenflo though, hope he takes on Gray maynard and looses though, for matchup purposes only. Roos pearson is looking fucking deadly and glad jorge got a win.
All and all great UFN
Do not care about TUF at all, produces about one or two great fighters and two or three good fighters, down the road, per season. But the format is just boring at this point.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
Good to see Hughes get his standing TKO, even though it was over Renzo. I dont mind Hughes taking fights like this, he still wants to fight and since the Alves fight is not a threat to the title. Him fighting Hallman or Sakuraba next would be awesome.
Wow close fight with edgar and Penn. I mean it was close, and I totally see edgar winning three or four rounds, but I didnt see him getting such a dominate UD like that. This makes the LW picture way more interesting, The bully beat edgar and he is waiting for his shot at the title. Kenflo and George strironfrfjdlskfwhateverhisnameis are in the mix. I wonder what Penn's thoughts on retirement are now.
Well boys and girls, you know your preformance was bad when not a single soul mentions you just broke Tito's and Hughes' title defense record. The taunting, whatever, I dont mind it that much, plus those two round were exciting. However, to do that for 2 and half rounds, circle and ride out a UD the rest of the fight. I'm not the biggest Dan the shit ref fan, but props to him for being the only one to stand up to silva like that. Plus Maia showed real fucking heart in there, dont count him out he is a lot less green after this. Put maia in with some good wrestlers in his camp to work takedowns and he could be the champ one day, I honestly beileve that.
Now what to do with Silva, The GSP fight must be coming soon. He said he would cut to 170, but 175 catchweight makes perfect sence. No need for titles. You have Sonnen waiting to beat the shit out of Silva, Belfort would make a good fight. Akiyama and wandy are fighting, winner is in the mix for sure. Then the 205 ambitions, as well as HW. Maybe we need Lesnar to humble him?
Whatever happens next he nexts big fights only, he likely has no more then five, so no more of this shit anymore.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
They should have named it UFC 112: Bizarro World. Matt Hughes KOs someone, BJ gets outboxed, and I don't even know what to say about the main event.
Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
Seriously, fuck Anderson Silva. If you can't finish the fight, then don't taunt. That was weak. Even after Dan finally cautioned him to quit dancing around, he still didn't go in for a punch for the rest of the round. I hope GSP rips him a new one.
Really surprised BJ lost the decision. My way of thinking: while he may not have won the fight outright, in order to take the belt from a champion the challenger needs to decisively win and I don't think Edgar did. It was certainly close.

I think Anderson does that shit to piss off Dana White...Anderson wants GSP or Mir and Dana says he won't make those fights, so Anderson pulls this kind of stuff. He should fight Vitor or Shogun next. He would do the same shit to GSP.

I'd like to see SIlva fighting at LHW, I don't think GSP has the power to be effective on the feet, and even though he's better than anyone at getting the takedown, Silva must have like a 6-8 inch reach advantage on him, and GSP is just going to dive into knees or straight punches. Hell, give him Chuck Liddell, and someone's getting knocked out.

Shogun is going to whoop Lyoto's ass and get the belt that he should have won 6 months ago. The only thing that worries me is that Shogun will be more aggressive now because of the judging, and he might get countered all night. But I think Shogun will be able to win.Syndrome Of A Down wrote:BozoMcMetal wrote:I think Anderson does that shit to piss off Dana White...Anderson wants GSP or Mir and Dana says he won't make those fights, so Anderson pulls this kind of stuff. True, neither would engage, do you think Shogun/Machida is going to be the same as part 1?
Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
While I understand people are pissed at the way Anderson behaves, I love him more, the thought of going in with a game plan and being caught in a taunting trap and fucking with your mind is the best part of the fight for me.
He is a smart guy, does not get hurt and when he wants, pulls off amazing fights.
Dana needs to give him a big challenge, hell, make the next UFC an open weight class line up, round the fighters and let them pick who they want to beat the shit out of with.

What's so amazing about not being able to finish a fight? With as much talent and skill as he has, that was embarrassing.

I wanted a good knock out as everyone else Tin, and the prancing around does piss me off a bit, but the fact is that Anderson did finish it, mentally, I'm not dissing Maia and its probably not what everyone wants to watch, but I liked how helpless and cornered Maia felt not knowing what to do against Siva.tin00can wrote:Bidokan wrote:While I understand people are pissed at the way Anderson behaves, I love him more, the thought of going in with a game plan and being caught in a taunting trap and fucking with your mind is the best part of the fight for me.

If anything, Maia was the contender, and he did not proof himself that much either.
Silva already proved himself, and the fact that he pulls this shit to piss of Dana for not giving him the fights he wants, makes me enjoy it more.
Fear is powerful, then again, I am probably the 0.00000000001 percent that sees it that way.
