I despise basswood and poplar, but they are popular and inexpensive. Honduran Mahogany and African Limba are my favorites.

I scored a Keeley Modded Tube Screamer TS808...unreal tone. I love it and I'm itching to see how his other pedals are. I want them all...haha. But they are pricey, but so far I'm in love with the two I have. Crystal clear, and no tone suckage in the least bit.
I have the Ibanez AD9 Analog Delay with the Keeley mod. It's brilliant.

Are any of the mod kits on eBay similar?

Suicide,

Is it the 199.00 mod or the 399.00 pedal that has the 'works'?

Toro, I have no idea on the mod kits on ebay. I stay away from circuits, soldering irons and anything that may blow up. But I'm pretty sure I've seen the instructions to the Keeley mods online somewhere.

I only have the $199 version, but I actually got it for free, in a sense. I had an old Carvin X100B amp that I bought from a pawn shop. I loaned the amp to a friend. He ended up frying the amp. I didn't think it was that big of a deal, but he felt bad about it. So he gave me his AD9 with the Keeley mod. I guess we broke even because I didn't use the amp much since 2006, and he already had a ton of pedals on his pedal board. It's the best non-tape delay I have ever heard, and I do not even have the "bells and whistles" version.

I never heard of the mod kits on Ebay either. I'll have to check it out.

I would too if I didn't already have a Carvin! BTW, Carvin still services those old X-amps, or did in the early 2000s when they were already out of production. Since they're making a new version again I'm sure they still service the old ones.

Trust me when I say it's wAY cheaper to ship it to them to fix then taking it to your local tech; they'll probably just slap a new circuitboard in it and you pretty much have a new amp.

Just got an endorsement with spear guitars, quite nice, mine has a SD JB in the bridge & a SD Jazz in the neck, not bad for a free guitar

You probabvly didn't know that Carvin will fix ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that's wrong with one of those for a flat rate of $105. They just slap a new PCB and new tubes into it and call it good. Really can't beat that!

Sounds like a good deal. If I would have stayed with half stacks, I would have got the Carvin fixed. I was already switching over to 2x12 combos by the time the Carvin blew up.

Nothing major since the Warmouth LP.....did recently score a nice SKB case from some kid, $50...still has the lock key.

Peeled off 16 bullshit stickers, hit with some Goo Gone to get rid of the adhesives left behind...looks like new and the LP has a secure means of storage.

Gotta get some bills caught up, and then it's time for a new amp(still searching on that one).

Im going crazy here with shit I "need" to buy....

Delay pedal- looking at the Digitech DL8
Fuzz- I need a nasty 60s fuzz...looking at a Basic Audio spooky tooth or a Fuzzhugger Absynth
Overdrive- I've decided my OCD has too much noise, so Im thinking about a Paul Cochrane Timmy pedal, which has a 4 month waiting list...

I want to see peoples pedalboards...what shit are you guys using?

I started its own thread but feel compelled to post here too...I got a TC Electronic Polytune and used it at a gig this weekend...Holy hell, what a time saver! You can tune all six strings by simply strumming and reading the display grid...If I knew something sounded "out," I could stomp for a quick second, strum, see the offending string and tune it rather than going string by string...Of course you can do that too with the TC....It switches modes on its own by the input it receives...So worth the money!!! If you play live, it's a must have!

You guys and your chorus pedals!

You know who uses chorus pedals???

Fucking Canadians, that's who! :D

In America, we use tremolo. Like the true men that we are.

I just got one of these here:

Image

...very pleased with it. It has a cool thing where it gets faster the harder you play...so you hit a chord, and it starts out all fast, then gets slower as the chords rings out...very cool. Sort of a leslie thing...

...and when it slows down, it locks to the tempo you tapped in.

Just got back one of my old Peavey 412MS cabs which I am pretty happy about. Traded it for the little Peavey Royal 8 I scored and a Weber speaker, the Royal 8 just didn't fill any spots I needed covered.

Cut my little Vox AD15 into a head running it into a Lopoline 1x12 cab for recording, freaking thing is such a great little amp for lower volume stuff it is ridiculous.

Got the fretboard back on the Melody Maker I am restoring, hope to do the frets this weekend as well as final prep for paint, Pelham Blue!
